This post is probably in vein as I highly doubt Nexus will allow Dovetail to make the Metro, however: I filmed this at North Shields Metro a few weeks ago and finally got round to uploading it (I recommend you watch it on mute though, as I'm breathing into the mic). Oddly, North Shields doesn't have announcements (or perhaps they're just not working) Almost all Tyne & Wear Metro stations have these boards. The ones at Byker have "Train information" and the platform number printed on them. At Central and Haymarket (refurbished about 10 years ago), they've been replaced with TFT screens: (not my image) Jesmond, Monument and Gateshead still have the LED screens, however they also show the 3rd and 4th train, (ie the sequence is 1st, 2nd; 3rd, 4th; travel info) and do not have a clock. Previously (I don't know when this changed), the screens were all in upper case. Other generic messages include: Delays to service, Metro apologise Delays to service, info: nexus.org.uk Smoking is not permitted on Metro Metro is a no smoking zone Mind the gap between train and platform
Not my video - but one of the most recent on train systems in Tokyo - JR E235-1000 Series on the Sobu line Shows Time and Car number Service Type and Destination in Kanji and Latin Characters Next Station name in Kanji, Hiragana and Latin Characters. Station Number (for those who can't read Japanese or Latin) Disruption information (Looks like a problem on the Keikyu-Toei-Keisei through running section in the video - won't effect JR but they still inform passengers so they can reroute) Approaching a station the display shows the layout of the station, and where that car will stop relative to the exits and lifts It also shows a line map Diagram showing the next few stops with Estimated time of arrival and connections from these stations Would love to see something like this in the UK - the screens on GWR's 158s are awful with text just randomly displayed in a word wrap.
Nah piss is what you do at the loo, not on platform information screens Just kidding, yeah, PIS is Passenger Information Screen(s)
I think this thread is somewhat pointless for U.S routes considering they didn't even bother making the accurate pis for the Harlem line despite alot of reference and just copied/pasted the inaccurate one from lirr. What's the point of DTG asking the community to give reference on pis systems from around the world if they are just gonna take the easy and rushed way out by adding inaccurate pis onto non UK/German routes Hopefully they won't add inaccurate pis on other U.S passenger routes in the future

Saw this tweet today from LNER about new PIS screens they have on trial at Doncaster, so felt like I should pop it here https://twitter.com/LNER/status/1592466687919816705
Probably not what your personally looking for as it's a station in a route coming soon but: Platform 6 (intercity) pis: Nottingham detailed PIS: Platform 6 strike action notice at Nottingham: All taken by me at Nottingham today - oh and sorry for the engine im the background... thats a 158 for ya.
Hey there! I'd recommend checking out YouTube for some awesome PIS (Passenger Information System) videos. Search for your station and platform to find detailed displays in action. Good luck with your reference thread!
2 older style (think this style was common around the early to mid 2000s iirc) PIS displays still in use at my local station, albeit on more modern screens.
In 2021 on the line H was experimented a screen showing the affluence of each train, thanks to infrared sensors above doors. Showing how crowded is a train can help people to position themselves better, to avoid having full coaches next to empty ones (there’s still some lines without open gangways trains). It’s deployed progressively on the whole Transilien network on platforms PIS, and it’s available on website as well and sometimes on phones applications.
It's no worries. My local station is Gloucester - there's quite a bit of variety here in terms of services, hence the various different destinations.

Looks like the common orange ones you see at most rural stations except it's been upgraded to white L.E.D's. (I prefer orange) One of my locals, Irvine, got a similar upgrade except it shows you the train formation as well.
The Digital Solari Board at Newark Penn Station . Makes a flapping sound. This should have been made for NEC Trenton to NYC
Now I'd love for DTG to do a route to a London terminus in the 1970s or 1980s so we could get a Solari flicker board in the game.
OK then and the other station on NEC Trenton to Boston to have one is Secaucus Junction which itself is from 2003-2006 when it was opened
