The P32AC-DM is a dual mode locomotive manufactured by GE. They use 3rd rail while in Grand Central, then switch to Diesel once out of the tunnel. I feel that this locomotive should be added to the Harlem Line.
This feels like a suggestion, rather than a discussion (then again, feels more like a Demand than a suggestion)
So the roadmap isn't even out for a day and people are already kinda "complaining" about what should be included as well. Gees. DTG probably already decided what's gonna be included and whatnot. No wonder they get demotivated.
Since when is speaking your opinion on what train should/could be included in a route complaining? There is plenty of people in this community that do that in a more obvious fashion you could be pointing out then this thread. I agree it should be included!
I wouldn't object to a PC32 as a loco DLC for this route, im unlikely to buy Harlem on it's own however. I still maintain the Hudson line to Crotone would have been better especially if they added the Amtrak line into Penn (considering it's mostly tunnel and Penn is already built I can't see it being much additional work). Then a future DLC pack could have been produced giving us a PC32 in Amtrak livery along with view liners on the 12-13 daily round trips up to Crotone with most making an intermediate stop at Yonkers. There seems very little additional variety for the Harlem line unless I'm missing something and IMO shows little forward planning on how to best maximise profits from the development of a new route DLC
The Genesis series is my favorite passenger locomotive series. I have been wanting one since day 1 of TSW.
I'd love to see a Genesis added, the ES44 and Genesis are my two favorite US locos. But, I think if they're gonna do a P32AC-DM they need to do a line that's actually dual mode, not just because you go in a tunnel. Otherwise, there's not much game play experience to be had since it's just another loco doing the same thing as the EMUs. I hold the same view for the dual mode loco (can't remember the model) that runs on LIRR.
They only run on third rail in the tunnel in real life. I believe the acceleration is better in Diesel mode.
On this route, or in all of New York? Cause if you mean the latter and MTA bought the P32s just so they have some diesels but can also run them in the tunnels without making someone ill seems like a giant waste. My point was though, I'd rather wait and let a Genesis be the feature loco to a route, than make it an add-on that puts in on a route that really doesn't add anything special game play wise.
Well newsflash The ES44AC will be featured in horseshoe curve. This is the first GEVO we are getting And let alone being that it’s Norfolk Southern. I just wanted to bring that up just in case you weren’t aware.
Amtrak's Empire Service runs from New York Penn with P32AC-DMs. (Though this one went to Grand Central)
Absolutely needed because these operate Wassaic services because the electric trains M3A 10-12 car trains M7A 8 car trains only operate up to Brewster station which was the goal the 1983 electrification project North White Plains Brewster. In the electric territory these operates Express the tutorial level should tell the user at Harlem 125th Street turn off the 750v DC Third rail Bottom Contact to activate the diesel engine.
