it would be nice for the gwml London paddington to reading route to be extended to at least didcot (oxford let me know) if this did happen it would allow players to drive the paddington to didcot service's all the way and may also lead to the gwr class 387 picture attached
Didcot is an awkward place to end the route since not all trains stop there, Swindon would be a better place as pretty much every train stops there, and its where the express line that runs straight to Bristol Parkway diverts from the regional line that runs through Chippenham, Bath and Bristol Temple Meads
One other possibility which occurred to me the other day would be for a standalone Basingstoke to Oxford or maybe even Banbury route, given DTG seem to be standing firm against extending existing routes. We already have a couple of German routes that share locations between each other without physical linking in the game. Basingstoke to Banbury would allow a multitude of service possibilities: FGW/GWR Class One services between Reading and Didcot, on to Oxford with either the terminators or Cotswold Line services. FGW/GWR Class Two services the continuation of the Paddington to Oxford stoppers, Oxford to Banbury shuttle, Reading to Basingstoke shuttle. Cross Country half hourly Class 220/221 Voyager North to South service in each direction, calling and reversing at Reading. Freight: Main flow the intermodal (container) traffic from the North to South and vv running via Reading West Curve. Stone traffic to Appleford or Oxford Banbury Road. Various DB network services that operate in and out of the Didcot Yard hub. Engineering traffic to/from Hinksey Yard at Oxford. And the beauty of it is, apart from the Voyagers, most of the traction resources already exist in game, if set prior to the GW electrification reaching Reading. Plenty of scope for historic workings too, when the inter regional trains were loco hauled and either ran round at Reading or had a turnover loco. Class 205 Thumper DEMU's on the Basingstoke line, maybe finally give us a Class 117 DMU for the GW suburban service too. Icing on the cake would be a Class 50 to deploy on the GW services to Oxford and beyond to the Cotswolds.
