I decided to get the Rhine Valley: Freiburg - Basel route after reading about the mod from Railomanie that fixes many of the issues with the route. Thank goodness for Google Translate! My question is regarding the route folder to update. The mod has a folder: ...\Content\Routes\113b4589-93d2-423f-91bc-7f2f7acbbda3 However I don't have a folder with that name. In my installation, the Freiburg-Basel folder from my installation is: ...\Content\Routes\a7befb00-8969-4dcc-a3ef-6a902e06f7ca Should I just copy the content of the mod's 113b4589-93d2-423f-91bc-7f2f7acbbda3 over the installed a7befb00-8969-4dcc-a3ef-6a902e06f7ca? I'm in the process of making a backup of the route now just in case but wanted to check to see if anyone here has applied the mod and how they applied it. Thanks!
Just install it as it comes. I don't have that mod but if it is done in a good way it creates a new route so the original is not touched. It seems ok, it will reference the original route assets it needs. Don't see a problem here.
It uses a clone of the route. There is some further notice in the readme that is unusal for those installations: you must go to the original route (if there´s a Main content.ap it must be unpacked to see following), then into "Terrains" and copy the directory "Textures" into the same directory level in the route clone.
Having copied the Assets and Content folders to your Railworks folder you then go to step 2 translated via Google Go to the following folder: "RailWorks \ Content \ Routes \ a7befb00-8969-4dcc-a3ef-6a902e06f7ca \ Terrain \" and copy the complete "textures" folder. This includes the missing distant terrain. Now in RailWorks \ Content \ Routes \ 113b4589-93d2-423f-91bc-7f2f7acbbda3 \ Terrain \ simply paste the copied folder Complete! Since the update is installed as a track clone, only the textures for the 40ft change on the original track. Please note: If you use the Steam version you have to unzip the "MainContent.ap" file to see the "Terrain" folder!
