Another Baltic country that I would like to see in TSW2 is Estonia. Tallinn - Riisipere railway line is an electrified commuter railway line running via Pääsküla and Keila. Line length is approximately 51km. The route runs from the beautiful and historical capital city of Tallinn to the small village of Riisipere via several stops in Estonian countryside. The route runs via Pääsküla depot, which is the depot for all Elron (Estonian national passenger train operator) trains. Estonia has recently removed it's old soviet rolling stock, and replaced it with modern FLIRT units. This route would include the electric FLIRT. The track infrastructure is still soviet styled, although some modernization has been done in some parts of the line. The signaling is still from soviet era. Gauge is 1520mm. Personally, I think if such a route like this would ever come, it would be much more interesting with older rolling stock (the soviet rolling stock, as you've described them). With a new FLIRT, it just feels like another germany.
I agree but it would be difficult to model the old rolling stock because it's scrapped and doesn't exist anymore. Developers can't get any necessary source materials for those trains that they need if they want to make a detailed 3D model of that stock, so that's why it's very unlikely to happen.
Not even any historically preserved stock remaining? What kind of rolling stock used to be there, by the way? DR1s?
Excellent idea and if you are wondering Estonian Railways have C36-7 in 1.520m tracks gauge instead of the original 1.435m tracks used on CSX Sand Patch Grade Cumberland to Rockwood Pennsylvania UP Sherman Hill and Cane Creek. The Estonian Railway C36-7 will be base model for Norfolk Southern CSX UP BNSF C36-7s although modified to use 1.435m tracks. Provided there is freight on the route. If Upgraded to run 1.435m tracks part of the European Union Baltic rail project then you have ETCS European Train control system Soviet Union ASLN Klub-U system.
