The DB G-6 shunter comes equipped with Cruise Control, as evidenced by the following: 1. A dial on the MTD panel 2. A button on the driver's desks Cruise control is not covered in the tutorial -- that's no surprise; and there's no users' manual available -- nothing new about this. If you've experimented with this or, indeed, know how to use it, please share your experiences.
Only the setting for more than 11 km/h works in the long distance gear. All the settings below 11 km/h work only in shunting gear. It‘s not a really a true cruise control but more intended for slow moving unloading processes (think of it more as a slow speed control). Acknowledging SIFA currently cancels the cruise control - this has been fixed on TSG‘s end and is awaiting QA + release.
Also, using the arrow keys to change views, and using the 1 key to return to cab view, also switch it off. Basics: 1. You must have positive throttle in order to engage it 2. Settings other than the top one (> 11km/h) only work in low (shunting) gear 3. It ONLY controls power, not the brakes; on a downgrade you're on your own.
So, set the gear first and then the dial, or vice-versa? And then, do what with the throttle? Or does the cruise control itself control the throttle once the button has been pushed? Why isn't there a users' manual??????????????????????????????????????
That was already answered. And one '?' should be enough. It's not getting better using dozens of that. Cruise control usage requirements when in fast gear: (it acts as a real cruise control ... it does not brake at all) - set the speed selector to >11 - apply power and get to your desired speed - set the power and brake handle to HOLD and have a minimum of 1% power applied - press the cruise control button to hold the actual speed by using the engines RPM to control it (it's not highly accurate, +/- 2kph is nothing bad) when in shunting gear: (it acts as a slow speed control and is only usable with more heavy trains, light engines will shoot away) - set the speed selector to the desired speed between 3 and 11 kph (if you set it to >11 it acts the same as in the fast gear above 11kph then) - apply some power (minimum of 1%) - set the power and brake handle to HOLD (it should be there already after applying power) - press the cruise control button (it will now try to hold the set speed with controlling the transmission fill levels and the engine RPM) Note: It deactivates immediately when you move the power and brake lever, the independent brake lever or the loco brake lever. You can deactivate it also by pressing the cruise control button again or set a new speed. At the moment there is a bug (more a not intended action) that deactivates the cruise control when interacting with the SIFA (includes the camera change with the arrow keys because the SIFA gets handled then too).
A cruise control that only reaches 11 KPH doesn't strike me as useful, but thanks for the thorough instructions. And I'll use as many question marks for emphasis as I see fit.
No, it can be used at any speed. 11or less is just fror shunting. The final setting on the dial is “>11km/h” - which can be anything up to 80
I'm now really confused. Doesn't a setting of ">11Km/h" mean less than that speed (perhaps I've forgotten my high school math) and even if it does mean more than, how would one set a higher speed? Obviously, more explanation is needed . . . and where would that appear? In a user's manual !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We get it. You want a manual. Tacking it onto every post doesn‘t make one appear out of thin air. As you can see, all of us - including Maik Goltz - are doing our best to help you. By pressing the cruise control button while driving at the desired speed. Like the cruise control on a car.
1) Set the transmission to high gear (only when stopped!) 2) set the CC selector to ">11 km/h" 3) Apply power 4) When at target speed, press CC button (or Ctrl-R). 5) Be prepared to use brakes on downgrades; CC will NOT slow you down!
Mate, are you a little dense??? There have been more than enough thorough explanations in this thread and you still have the audacity to LOVE around in here? Maybe learn to actually read comprehensively and understand the information you read.
