I have ordered one of these controller's the support is built in to TSW 2 I am told, will be useful for the 1938 tube stock, and other locomotives, what is the TS2022 situation, the software download required? I have Win 10 for Steam games that won't run in Linux with Proton so I know I will be OK with the controller in Windows. However I have got TS2022 running perfectly in Linux Steam Client using Proton, as I have TSW 2 and TSW. As the TS2022 Utilities.exe allows me to install DLC and the WINE compatibility layer allows some DLC windows installers to work fine (excepting Just Trains) I wonder what the chances are of a Raildriver working in TSW2 in Linux? I would expect TS2022 would be dodgy as its dependent on the Raildriver software running under WINE. Picture is Caledonia Works Cornwall with LNWR 50' Arc Roof stock descending from Shap in WCML over Shap route running in Steam in Linux.
I can't tell you anything about Linux, WINE or anything else but I will say don't bother with the official RailDriver software because it's rubbish, you need (if it's compatible) the software made by CobraOne, it and all information can be found here > https://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=139830&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=705 It's worth skimming through the forum posts from page 48 onwards.
Thanks Reef will look at that I do have a Windows drive with Steam and TS on, so will try CobraOne's solutions, is that ok with TS2022? I have tried the RD software in Windows and its flaky with the controller not being pickled up at all sometimes. TSW 2 in Windows seems to work with the beta support but the calibration routine is a pain. Linux support will be dependent on what WINE and Steam Protoncan emulate, and is something for the future Its amazing that TS and TSW 2 work on Linux at all thanks to the work Valve and the Proton Devs have accomplished.
The RD software does seem flaky, like difficulty getting the Raildriver recognised even after starting the RD interface In TSW 2 the beta software seems better, works great on the 1972 Tube Stock, and the Rivet games Heritage stock Where are the setup instructions for CobraOne's solution, I see a folder goes in root of C:\ but what other steps needed to initialise in TS?
