Some big savings on PS Store - their January Sale has started today. If you don't already have East Coastway, HRR and Oakville, they're all currently 85% off. :o

I've been holding off Oakville because of the poor reviews and route emptiness, but surely it's worth £3.74? :D

Heavy Freight pack is only £3.44. Good time to pick up the Baby Bullet and Switcher for Peninsula Corridor too if you have the route, but not the extra trains.

Good deals for new players, not so good for those of us who already have a large collection; everything that is heavily discounted is very old.
Of the most recent, Clinchfield and Hamburg with only 40% but they are April and May releases.
    For me, quite disappointing.

By the way, I'd like to ask anyone who has Hamburg-Lübeck if they think £15 is a fair price for this route. It's the only discount I could take advantage of but it doesn't seem to get very good reviews. And I would also like to know if it is affected by the problem of the signs that always indicate zero because if so I totally rule it out.

Was waiting for Munchen - Augsburg, disappointed, got most other things I’m interested in. Haupstrecke Rhein-Ruhr is a great purchase though, amazing at £3.74. A MUST purchase.

I think at these prices I’ll certainly have a look at filling out some gaps in my collection, at those prices they’re certainly worth a punt.

Edit: Grabbed OSD for the £3.74, I was tempted by CRR for the £15 however my installed DLC is currently at 62GB so that isn’t going to happen unfortunately.

Also, for those on PS5 (who want a break from frequently-broken train games), Deathloop is currently 50% off (£30 for standard, £40 for Deluxe). Looks quite good from the trailers so I might put my money there instead.

IGN gave it a glowing review with a Masterpiece 10/10 rating.

It basically offers the most basic experience of a modern railway, it’s 2 track, it’s straight and it’s a consistent speed of 140kmh with a short stretch at 160kmh.

Pretty basic freight runs that are A to B, passenger services are made up of depot runs in Lubeck, RE and RB services terminate mostly at Hamburg or Lubeck, with some terminating at Bad Oldesloe, Ahrensburg or Bargteheide. Unfortunately though they don’t add much variety since the route is completely straight so they tend to just end at a station you’d usually go through anyway.

The route itself is built well, can’t really complain about much, but it certainly doesn’t standout just because of the nature of the route.

    Layer wise you can access the 112.1, 766.2, 101, 185.2 & 5, 146.2, 155, 187 & MRCE 182.

It will add the 112 to most of the other German routes, aswell as the MRCE 182, and another bonus will be that if you own the 101, the MRCE 182 will be pulling the IC coaches around Dresden on the upcoming Chemnitz route, so something quite unique there.

overall the DLC brings pretty much what it says on the tin, nothing special but nothing terrible, if I had to sum up the DLC in one word, it would be unexciting.

I will say it’s worth the £15 for anyone who is a fan of German content, just not the £25.

As for the speed boards they seem to be intact, I just spawned in at Hamburg HBF and they were present & correct for about a mile out of it, I didn’t check any further.

Was hoping for HMA as well since I'll need it when TSG's 420 comes around.

That's the only reason I'm cautiously considering HBK. I really don't want to get it based on the lacklustre quality of the 112, but the MRCE 182 on Dresden - Chemnitz is tempting. Don't think it'll be worth the price of admission for me though.

Could anyone tell me what the state of IoW is? Are there any particular physics issues like with the 204 or Arosa? I quite like old electrics and a relaxed route, so I'm tempted to get it.

Yeah £15 is a steep price to see a particular consist, if you don’t mind A to B freight runs though, you do get some decent mileage to run them on.

I have to say one thing I’ve certainly enjoyed about Hamburg- Lubeck is running 155 intermodal hauls along it.

    Hi all,

New player - lurker on the forum for a number of weeks. For the layman like myself, is there a massive difference between the two versions? The Standard Edition is now £4.99, with the Rush Hour Deluxe Edition £39.99 (£34.99 for the disc version on Amazon).

My preference is more for UK based routes & engines. Which would be the one to get out of the two?

Are you on PS4? Munchen-Augsburg is the route I would not recommend to buy if so.

Wow, what a great explanation, thank you very much for your time.
I've decided to give it a try and will buy it tonight. It's the only German route I'm missing in TSW so hopefully it will ease the wait until the next Dresden-Chemnitz which I'll buy on launch day.
Having the BR 101 available here on the timetable is a plus because it's my favourite train as it's always a pleasure to drive it or travel as a passenger (what wonderful sounds there are in the carriages ).
By the way, speaking of the 101 there is something you said that I don't quite understand:
I didn't know anything about this, if you can tell me where to find more information about it or give it yourself, sorry if I abuse your kindness :).

The standard edition has 1 UK, 1 German and 1 US route (Bakerloo, Koeln-Aachen and Sand Patch Grade), while Rush hour doubles that (Brighton Mainline, Riesa - Dresden, Boston Providence).

So if you're really only into UK routes, you're only getting 1 extra for £35. The standard edition lacks a mainline UK route, but you could get that plus a few UK DLCs for the same price

    Standard £5
    GWE £13.75
    Southeastern £15
    Tees Valley £7.50

    (or other combinations)

Great buy! To me this route has a lot of charm, although it certainly has a lot more potential compared to what DTG did when they built it. They could have made a lot more of that wonderful scenery but at least it looks like the preservation crew is working hard on it. In fact, I'm going to buy the baby bullet today too so I can enjoy the passenger services they're going to implement here.

Page 3 of this thread, Joe discusses some of the time timetable for the upcoming route.

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-chemnitz-first-look.49918/page-3#post-427208

On a side note for the 101, on Hamburg- Lubeck, it only has 2 services, one from Hamburg to Lubeck, where it sits for a few hours and then does the return journey.

Was wondering the same. It's had pretty rubbish reviews in the past; has it been sorted to a point where it's worth a tenner?

I promise I was following this fantastic thread but I forgot to check it in the last few hours!
I definitely love Joe, all the information he brings and the talent he has as he already showed in BML, it's amazing :o
Well another good reason for me to get HBK.
And as for the few 101 services, I don't mind too much. I'll just repeat them dozens of times!
Thanks again, users like you make this forum great!;)

I haven't played it in a while so might not remember everything. I payed about £10 on PC and really enjoy the route, iirc it has wheel slip when you start moving even at lowest speed notch but I never notice with the HUD turned off, the water of the ocean is like a grid but that doesn't bother me it might bother you. The services are all the same/very similar A to B then B to A and very slow speed, iirc 40mph is the max speed, I've seen people having issues with being unable to keep to time but this has never been a problem for me. I enjoy it a lot but don't take my opinion as fact you will like it but I would pay £10 for it :) EDIT: has some nice background noises in some stations :)

    TLDR
Water like a grid, wheel-slip at start, A-B services, fun if you like low speed A to B routes, worth £10 in my opinion

Hmmm. Tempting, but I'll see how I go with three quid Oakville for now. I'll probably get Deathloop too, so might wait a little longer before I invest in my first Rivet DLC...

Yeah I think in general we are seeing much more creativity which brings more life to the routes, Joe is a great guy to interact with too because of how enthusiastic he is, not to say that other members of the team aren’t, but usually such details are hidden away in 60-90 minute streams which not everyone has time for, so it’s nice to see those discussions with devs taking place here.

Thanks for the compliments too, happy to help.

If this wasn’t in the midst of the PS5 DLC limit thingy I would have a couple of no-brainer purchases, such as Hamburg (fairly hefty discount) and the Class 313 (only a small discount but also only a small outlay). But I don’t know, they are unlikely to get installed right away except maybe the 313 if it fits without any more deletions. Everything else I want is still full price so that’s a no-brainer for them staying on the virtual shelf for now. Something for me to think about over the next couple of weeks.

Some fantastically large discounts on the older stuff for those new to the game. The 85% discounted routes are a must for anyone who doesn’t have them. It’s also amazing to see all the content laid out in a grid like that. There’s tons of stuff.

I just bought Hamburg-Lubeck and the price I had to pay was 17,99€ PLUS uninstall Arosa and Oakville.
This situation definitely can't go on much longer :(

Despite most comments are not good for this route, I recommend it to you, of course if you like German trains.
For me is one of the bests!
    Due to:
    - It is relative longer than other ones
    - You depart with passenger services from a big passenger terminal to another another one! Both are nice, but Hamburg is beautiful.
    - Freight trains have freight yards at both ends, but on the Hamburg side you have a dedicated branch - which have nice views of the suburbs of Hamburg, and you have to cross bridges over rivers and roads.
    - It is mostly flat, but you have curves and different speed limits, with Hamburg suburban areas around 70 and 90 up to 140 and 160 on the country side.
    - There are different type of passenger stations considering their buildings. From new to old ones.
    - You have several bridges both running up or down your train
    - You get the really beautiful Siemens Taurus with the nice MRCE colors.
    - You get the BR 112 which is an improved BR 143.
    - In mi case I also got the containers freight cars, which I wanted!.
    - There are lot of services. Both freight and passenger ones
    - If you have other German trains, you have available there too.

    - Special one: if you like to make your own Scenarios, this is one of the best route to do it!
Due to all the alternatives it provides, which does not happens on other routes unfortunately.
I have programmed one, using all the maximum 20 services, and I experienced several yellow and some red lights.
Lot of AI trains coming from the other track, but also some parallel ones.
Using AFB and, PZB, you are really very busy with it!
You can also use any german train you wish.
For example I run an ICE 3, BR 146. BR187 BR155, BR 187 there, and I really enjoyed!

So again I recommend it to you, and you will not be dissapointed!

I already have SEHS, then I am thinking to buy the BR 465 EMU with 40% discount.
Do you think it is really worth it?

Absolutely, one of the best produced trains in TSW.

The services it offers are a little short, but it’s still a great DLC.

I’m going to wait for larger discount. I prefer the 377 on SEHS and it only adds a few unplayable AI services to BML, so for me, a miss for now.

I was considering getting the BR Heavy Freight Pack, and now that it’s at $6, it’s basically a steal. I’m really happy about that, I’ve always wanted a Gronk!

Thanks for your input. I'll probably check out some YouTube gameplay and then make up my mind. It also depends on how much else I'll pick up in this sale (both TSW DLC and other stuff) - I'm still keeping an eye on HBK :)

Enjoy whistling through the Pennines with your Class 40! Really brought NTP to life for me as Manchester in the early 80's wasn't the same without 40's.....

    #Class 25 please!

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought a ton of these.

Oddly enough Oakville was showing full price for TSW2 but on sale for TSW… so I just bought it that way and added it to TSW2 as Preserved.

Bad timing for Baby Bullet since I bought it full price like yesterday :(.

I want Sherman Hill and Cane Creek but so far holding off and hoping for sale.

Fantastic review, thank you very much!
I finally bought it and although I've only been able to play for a short time I have to say that it has given me very good impressions. I always enjoy the German routes, for me they are the most immersive because you have to be always attentive and focused on the track because of the safety systems.

By the way, I also recommend the 465, it's one of the best DTG has ever made. It includes amazing Armstrong Powerhouse sounds!

it seems like only the TSW1 version is on sale for me at just under 5 bucks. If i buy it will it give me the preserved version?

Am not to sure but I think yes. It should transfer over to TSW 2 just like the other DLCs. But I think should wait for a forsure answer before buying it.

for TSW1 dlc to move to TSW2 I believe you have to own either TSW or TSW2020 base game for the dlc to be recognised

I mentioned a few posts up that I had this issue. What I did was just go to the TSW page and buy it there on sale then I could get it for TSW2 free since it’s preserved collection.

I’ve been hoping to get one of those powerful little guys eventually, but what was I going to do, get Tees Valley Line? Terrifying route right there. Drag me in with dirt cheap prices and then smack me on the head with the sudden urge to want the Class 20 and Class 31. I’d be bankrupt in no time!

Exactly what happened to me. Got TVL in a sale and got both the 31 and 20 shortly after in another sale :D

Can someone advise is Oakville Subdivision really bad, I have most of the content but not that interested in freight only routes and had heard none stellar reviews on this one but for the price tempted to get it?

I bought it. It's not really bad. I doubt I'll get a lot of use out of it, but it's certainly worth £3! :)

I think most of the complaints are about the lack of passenger services (Baby Bullet layering in soon) and yards which were on the original map missing from the release. I'm not really a lover of freight routes either, but the trains are nice and the scenery is pretty so I've quite enjoyed the couple of runs I've done on it so far.

Thanks for the response, sold, for the money definitely worth a shot and I think it’s getting a Preservation Crew pass soon as well.
