With dtg love affair with recycling there trains it's a no brainer to just redo NEC new york besides the add on switcher and amfleet cab cab would be very nice extras at this point,it clearly can't be that hard compared to a new route, they already have all the needed data,so it's not like they be starting from square one. This could be a route that includes the add ons something dtg already been doing by adding add on trains with later routes.NEC New York would make a great returning route,i'm guessing some might even be willing to buy it again if they didn't already have before(but can't use it with tsw2) if done right.(Yea i know that asking alot)

That route shouldn't come back. It's endpoints are bad.

If they want to do it right option 1 is NEC New York Newark,NJ to New Haven, CT operators MTA Metro-North Pelham Junction,NY to New Haven, CT or Penn Station to New Haven,CT Amtrak Newark, NJ to New Haven,CT NJ Transit Newark, NJ to NY Penn Station 82 mi 133 km. Option 2 is 205mi 330km NEC New York to Providence, RI using Newark, NJ to Providence, RI plays in two parts commuter with Amtrak express services Newark, NJ to New London,CT & Wickford Junction, CT to Providence. 2nd part is High-Speed Action New London, CT to Wickford Junction links to NEC Boston Providence as a combined route. Becomes NEC NYC Metro to Boston.

I agree and phase II might be NEC New York Newark, NJ New London, CT with Branch to Grand Central Terminal unless DTG makes NEC Newark, NJ to New London, CT with Metro-North New Haven line Penn Station access. That way you have NJ Transit Conndot Shoreline East MTA Metro-North and Amtrak featuring the Metroliner Cab Car.

Don't forget this route had a piece of purpose built rolling stock a flat car that carried large green refuse containers to the city dump. Those where days when dtg could be bothered to create the correct car for the job that it needed to do.To bad all we get now are excused as to why they aren't able to do that anymore.

Thank you for telling me about it and if they were to do that again Hamburg-Lübeck and Köln-Aachen will have 781 786 Doppelstockwagen High Entry combined with NEC New York Providence, RI Garbage wagon. They should have learned from this to make specific rolling stock rather than copy and paste Just look at RRO MRCE BR185.5 being pasted to Riesa-Dresden DB BR146.2 Main Spessart Bahn copy pasted to Riesa-Dresden the correct approach for Riesa-Dresden was DB BR146.0 DB BR145 189 freight

On a side note NEC New York gets the correct garbage hauler but cane creek doesn't get the correct dirty dirt car it gets a recycled PC hopper car.I guess some waste isn't worth the effort anymore.

If they planned on doing a TSW 2 version of NEC:New York they should the Section from New York to New Heaven where players can run Metro North Trains or New York to Trenton section and players can have the choice of driving NJ Transit commuter trains.

I would love to see it return, but it should be extended and the GP40, Cab car, and Switcher should come back

Absolutely not. The endpoints on the route are terrible. The route feels beyond unfinished. If DTG ever do an NEC route out of New York, they need to do NY-Philadelphia. The New Haven line is beyond boring cuz its the slowest part of the entire NEC. If anything, I'd rather see the NEC from Washington DC to Baltimore.
