Hi, I have just bought WSR add-on and realized that main reservoir an equalizing reservoir are replaced on the hud with VP and VC. What are these abbreviations stand for?

Vacuum Pipe and Vacuum Chamber - the locomotives are fitted with older-style vacuum brakes.

The maximum pressure vacuum can give you is atmospheric, i.e. 15 psi. That's not a lot.

Here a Link of the West Somerset Channel, where the funcitonallity of the Vacuum Brakes is explained:

Actually the WSR Class 09 is a Dual braked shunter, which means it supports both Air and Vaccum braked conditions.

    - Black Hose (2 Inch Vacuum Hose) - 1x
    - Yellow Hose (3/4 Inch Main Reservoir Equalizing Hose) - 2x
    - Red Hose (1 Inch Air brake pipe)

If you want an immersive experience in shunting, i recommend the class 08, its substituted in WSR and fully modeled. The thing with the Class 09 in tsw2, its an old addon and lacks all the features of the class 08, where you can select the brake modes etc.

Here a list of features to the Class 08:

    - Main Battery switch outside
    - Selecting the Brake mods / Exhauster (Dual)
    - Can be switched between Series and Parallel
    - Working manual fuelpump
    - Working isolation valves & vacuum release valve
    - Speed up of the Exhauster
    - DSD implemented (Can be isolated)
    - Cabin Steam heating animated
    - Fully startup procedure from cold & dark
    - Working overspeed device

Like i said many times in different threads, you can literally drive it by the BR Manufacturers Manual. The Difference between the cl.08 and the 09 is just the transmission gears, which allows the cl09 a speed of 25mph

    Tanks for the detailed answer.
Going for the 08 then, everything is discounted on Epic now.
I was looking for DSD and didn't find AWS either guessing it is not animated either or not fitted in cl09?

No DSD in the 09, because its not modeled. AWS isnt in the class 08 either. You will see the differences really quick, going for the 08 is the right choice (except you like just a bit drive around and dont want to bother about technical stuff & features).

I whish DTG would update the class 09, its a nice shunter.

So in case you have trouble:

    - For Light engine Runs: Brake selector to light engine / Exhauster to off
    - For Vacuum conditions: Brake selector to vacuum / Exhauster to on --> after seting this configuration you can couple your wagons
    - For Air conditions: Brake selector to Air / Exhauster to off / (Release Vacuum on the Vac Release Valve) --> After coupling make the brake continuity test (overcharge the pipe) and if you like a running brake test.

In case you want Additional informations there is a file attached: good luck!

I love it that 400hp was called a "heavy duty" shunter back then. (These days, 400hp is a heavy-duty pickup truck)
