Not on those coaches, is the simple answer. Anything released between Southeastern and Boston (inclusive), you can't change the destination. For Dresden-Reisa, they worked out how to have destinations changeable and dynamically generated (ie they'll show correct destinations for the route), beforehand they were static lists (the trains would only show set destinations built into the train)
"Doesn't work." Jesus, Mary and Joseph..... There are three generations of onboard PIS, as DTG have continually worked to improve it. The second generation had the destinations auto-set, but no manual override. This is called progress. Also, it's a bit of a joke comparing the difficulty of building train models in Railworks and in TSW. It's like comparing Minecraft to a Rockstar release.
They didn't tell anything about onboard PIS progress, atleast user as I don't know about anything related to this problem... And yes, you are right, comparing Railworks and TSW models is way out... TSW is easier, UE is really creators friendly engine...
Also the dynamic PIS on the coaches shows already the right stations and Destination on most routes, why would you want to change it and to what? You are the IC 2214, going from Duisburg to Essen (at least in the TSW World), the only thing that could bother one is that is shows essen twice, because the IC PIS shows the start Station, the next station and the terminus on the Route, which in this case is both Essen. To show off world Destinations, they need to implement it in the route somehow, like on HMA
It doesn't terminate at Essen in reality, IC2214 goes all the way to Westerland. Off-world destinations weren't new at the time of the 101, it's just that ever-present inconsistency between releases that seems to plague all DTG content.
I believe the PIS draws the information from the timetable. While the tech to have off world destinations existed when the 101 was released, it did not when the HRR timetable was authored. It is likely something that may come in the preservation crew update to re-author the timetable to include the off world destinations. Then the PIS will work as intended (currently it’s looking for data that isn’t there hence having Essen as the terminus)
The HRR timetable had to be edited to add the 101 services, so there was the opportunity to do it if they wanted.
But why don't let it on player to setup it on everything he wants? Isn't that more user friendly? I think yes... in real world this coach doesn't set it for you automatically I think
