so i have it recorded when it was happening, and its bizarre.

you are asked to reconnect the train to the freight carridges on a side line,

so in order to do that i have to move forward past the switch point to then hop out and alter the switch so i ca n reverse and hook up those remaining carridges...

but the moment the DPU train crosses the switch point on the fork of the line

bag: Vechile derailed and it resets.

I tried twice and I dont get why it is happening

here is the video with the start timecode just before it happens:

its is me doing something wrong or is this a bug

Check your game options and make sure "Disable Junction Derail" is set to On.

Yeah, I thought he was wondering why he cant run over the switch in the wrong position without derailing but after watching the video again with the volume up I can clearly hear that he thinks the switch was set correctly when in fact it is not.

    Bit of a bump...
I take it this is the scenario where you have to form up and return with the loaded train from Moab to Brendel. Just encountered it in Journey Mode and had the same thing happen. If this is a hand switch then the train should not derail, in fact it should just push the blades over running through in the trailing direction. Even at powered points a derailment would be a rarity in the case of a run through as the weight of the train would simply overcome the motor and push through. It would wreck the points and the driver would be in trouble, but unlikely to derail.
If the scenario is expecting you to switch the point, regardless of the fact you shouldn't need to, then this should perhaps be made clear.
There are plenty of other locations in yards and elsewhere including the American routes, where you can run through trailing points set for the opposite direction and it will simply push the blades over.
Oh well. let's try it again...

Derailing at switches set in the wrong position can be disabled. You might want to take a look at this post.

I was aware of that setting - which is a bit of a cheat IMHO - but it should only apply to motored points and junctions. You shouldn’t need to tick it to pass through hand points which, as I mentioned, you can do on other routes without penalty.

Anyhow I restarted the scenario, aligned the hand point to the direction the game is looking for and proceeded without derailing. But it is still somewhat of a bug.
