Ive been told that we won't be getting the route from csx hh, is that really the case? With a turntable, coal dispencer and a lovely forest It was the route I was looking forward too the most. If its because its too large then could we possibly split it up into sections for console version bcause I would hate to have the GP40-2 and no fitting map to use it on. Best of luck anyway.
The CSX HH route still needs optimisation work to run well on consoles. The GP40-2 can be used on the NEC New York route.
Just ask yourself the following question before asking in here: Does the thing you want to know about profit DTG in any way? If yes, congratulation very soon its going to be released! It doesent? Well, have fun waiting for it for a long time just like we have been waiting for more than 1 and a half year for the editor (or any detailed information about it other than "soon") or a simple pzb fix
keksman why do you seem convinced that we don't believe the editor would profit us? The editor would allow our third parties to start making content, this was a core part of the business model from Train Simulator 20xx, so of course we believe releasing an editor would profit us. There is no shady conspiracy delaying it's release. We have been working on it to make sure we've got it right, that it works as it should and is easy to use and we will release it when it's ready and not a second before. We couldn't release the standard UE4 editor as it simply would not have worked with all the changes we've made to the UE4 engine.
But how come you guys didnt show us any progress of it so far? What do you think is the most reasonable thing to assume from a customer when the editor who has been promised 1 and a half year ago isnt released yet nor did any progress of it get shown while the game gets ported to two different consoles with all the dlc's? Another thing is the multiplayer. Got announced how long ago? And how much do we know about it so far? Not a single thing besides "soon".
In case anything we showed had to change later. Let's be candid about this. The editor tools are subject to licenses from Epic. We've made huge changes, and every change we make has to get the greenlight from Epic. The license terms for our tools are unique and very different to the standard editor. The license isn't even going to be finalised and signed off until the editor is done and ready to go, and if any issues raise there, we've have to go back and change it again. They could have said no to anything for any reason at any time, the UE4 engine is their property.
Thanks for the info, you guys made a beautiful map so it would be a shame not to be able to play on it, good luck with the progress.
Just as a small feedback you can pass on: A lot in the community (including me) would be fine with a demonstration of the progress even though things can change. Its been such a long time without anything new and it started to get frustrating. (if you just take a look at the reactions to the "big announcement": https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/big-train-sim-world-announcement.4939/)
They never even said anything about an editor, that's just what people would've either hoped or guessed that would've come.
DTG said from the beginning that the editor is a thing and would happen eventually. And Luke literally just acknowledged the fact that it is being worked on.
Really hope that you guys can fix the sound and lighting problem in CSX route, like the same lightning in the tunnel and the sound that sometimes doesn’t change when you enter the cab or close the window
Would be cool to see some Stockholm routes and trains! Any chance of operating some subway lines or light rail trains? I’ve been having lots of fun with the game! Thanks for bringing it to ps4! I enjoy most operating freight!
