Cant find anything disappointing in develop a coretech, which can be used from now on in other trains like the ice-t. looks just fantastic the jaw dampers movement when tilting. Not every Route has to be rush hour style, and fake timetables to make it busier wouldnt be a solution at all.

Ill go have a look at the museum first, i remember seeing a turntable in the stream, but was too quick to see something. Anybody knows if the preservation crew works on the sounds of this type of the 185?

To be honest... I don't really care. Not much has changed since 2012 anyway. And even if the line was in 2022, I'd still rather have the 612 and the 143 than the boring Coradia Continental running these days (even if that's not realistic).

That was always my biggest worry... that DTG would finally build "my" route - but with the Coradia Continental.

 

In case you missed it Joe has said that the build Matt used for the stream inadvertently had 12 of the 22 612 services omitted.

 

Yeah I saw that, however he did mention some doubt regarding weather they will be in the DLC.

I still think that given the muddled time period with a certain disregard for reality, that some RE3 substitution would be appropriate.

 

Another DTG member (JD I think?) mentioned the missing services in the Dovetail Live article thread. They are trying to fix them over the weekend (presumably because the DLC will have to be submitted for certification & testing at the beginning of next week). But if they don’t manage to get them working in time, they *will* be added after release.

Kudos to you for owning it, but don't sweat it too much. If only the worst mistake I made at work was missing a checkbox....

 

If it’s currently 10 services and roughly an hour each way, then that’s 10 hours of 612 fun to be going on with.
Hoping these get layered into MSB or RSN at some point, even if it’s a fictional scenario(s).

 

As I noted in the other thread, I'm so pumped for this I took the rare step of pre-ordering. Well that and the 10% discount.
Fingers and toes crossed I won't be disappointed...

 

Just to add my thoughts. While the new rolling stock and route look nice, I do wish DTG would not start creating overlapping routes in different time periods and hope this trend is not going to continue.

I think the 612 should have had a route set in the time period it is away from Dresden in a region of Germany not yet featured in TSW 2.

Regarding the Chemnitz route itself, would have been nice to have had it set in the same period as the Dresden Rush Hour route to offer the full potential of maximising existing layers, plus I would prefer the immersion of driving all the way from Riesa to Chemnitz via Dresden (albeit with a route switch) to feel part of a larger network.

This might work in theory, but to me, this doesn't hide the fact it's still a limited service number. After you complete a service once, all anticipation is removed on second-play, even if the weather is different. Not sure if just me, but normally once I play a service, unless it's absolutely amazing, I tend never to repeat a service I've already finished ever again, namely because I don't want an exact repetition of what I've done, plus I want to try and finish all remaining services on a route.

 

A slight typo oopsie on the steam site. I guess, it should be actually called Freiberg.

 

There are two depot trips there. So only eight.

 

There are quite some typos, also in the German version…

 

I found two links with a part of the schedule of KBS 510 => Hof - Plauen - Zwickau - Chemnitz - Dresden from 2011 and 2012.
Quite interesting to see the mixture of IRE, RE, RB and S-Bahn Services.

I don't want to spread any rumours here, but take a look at what sometimes happens on the route between Freiberg and Chemnitz...

(From about minute 4 it gets interesting, and also from minute 13)

 

So Sherman Hill gets released and has the possibility of steam specials, Dresden Chemnitz gets released and also has steam specials possible, and at roughly the same time age of steam appears on the road map. Im seeing a pattern here but I just can't put my finger on what it is

 

I think you're probably onto something; but steam will debut with complete vintage routes, not as railtours. Layering of course is possible, even likely.

I also did as well, because Matt said on the stream yesterday there are more realistic sounds and more sounds in this route. I also went for it because of the first tiliting train route.

 

Yesterday, since nothing else on the roadmap appeals to me and this is exactly the kind of route I like.

TrainSim-Matt please have a look, I found a small detail on the track that deviates extremely from reality. At KM14.4 (Tharandt exit) the small embankment wall on the right side is about 5 metres too high - see the comparison pics I attached. (I know that you don't like to change the scenery after everything has been released, but maybe something can be done.)





The frame is from this video, it is visible from 12:45 - there you can also compare the kilometre marking with the DTG video.

 

Pre ordered after the preview. It’s got everything I like and there was nothing standing out as bad. First time in a long time I‘ve been really excited to get a new route.

 

are you sure that, that the right section of the route, compared to the real photo?

 

Uh... Yes, of course. I live there.


The position in the picture from the video is a little higher, so you can look into the river. It is also there on DTG's route, but you can't see it from this perspective (to low).
The embankment on the route is slightly different (railings) but I'm not sure if there were any reconstruction works there after the floods or later - DTG shows the route in an older state.

 

Do we yet have a definitive list of layers and substitutions for this route?

I think Matt listed them all at the end of the preview stream while he was reading some notes from Joe, the timetable creator.

 

Is there a condensed list of this somewhere? I don’t tend to watch the streams as there is just too much waffle while trying to glean information that might be valuable.

Anyhow, now less than 12 hours to go - yes I’m really counting down. Also considering a trip to the specialist off licence in Swindon Old Town, get some proper German beer in for the occasion (all the supermarkets sell is Becks or Erdinger wheat beer).

Oh, just picked up in the announcements there might be a delay of a few hours due to a Steam administrative glitch. Bummer. Looks like UK and Europe won’t be playing this until Friday, then.

I have to wait a bit before buying because I'm stuck inside an MAN bus until 6pm. If only the old thing had a built in PC.

 

I hate the Steam releases. I get its not DTG's fault but Steam needs to find a better way to manage this. I would switch to EPIC but I have all my DLC's in Steam. If Epic ever offers a DLC match, I would gladly just pay them money instead of this.

 

Short version: none drivable.

Since none of the other German locos/EMU's in the game make the Dresden-Hof run, the layered stuff can only supply traffic density around Dresden Hbf- and that's all AI.

 

Dresden-Reisa, BR101, BR182 and Munich give AI around Dresden.

Reisa-Dresden will give a small chance of the 143 services spawning as a Talent, ALL German freight locos in TSW2 so far can be used on freight, standalone 363, 204 and G6 will sub for shunting. AI S1 services have a chance of spawning with a 182.

 

Unfortunately, that's not entirely true, the 204 didn't make it into the add-on

 

So to be Devil's Advocate, what time (UTC/GMT) do we think this will go live on Steam?

As an Epic user, I'm quite lucky and I already gave it a go. So far I haven't spotted anything concerning (guess that's what everyone wants to hear). The scenery is beautiful, 22 services for the 612, some subs available too (DB BR 155 for freight for example). I'll play more tonight, but my first impresion is VERY, VERY POSITIVE. And the 612 is just stunning, good job on that DTG.

 

Thats really good to hear, we steam's game users are still waiting as well. Hopefully, at 1:00PM, it will be available for us to update

 

When i come home in 4 hours it should be available i hope if not i gonna cry

 

DTG just wants us all to watch the release stream first. Otherwise we would play...
