Why Hasn't Dtg Made West German Equivalents To 143 155 232 & 204?

Hi Guys it's me Driverwoods1787 asking this question why hasn't DTG made West German equivalents for DB BR 155 DB BR232 143 & DB BR 204?
Because their equivalents would have made sense on RRO RSN HRR HMA Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen and Main Spessart Bahn? For main Spessart Bahn the West German equivalent to DB BR 155 did the job of banking locomotive documentation for the route a Schiebeilokomotive.

Because German Reunification happened 31 years ago and the country has integrated beyond being just East and West Germany?

    Just a thought...

Thank you for telling me about this and for these lines they're still being used despite having the East German versions. They should be added in to add more variety existing to the German routes. German reunification actual date was 4 October 1990 therefore you are looking at it as 31 years ago 3 months and 12 days. Just search German reunification on BBC

I'm going to presume that was sarcastic.
My point was it doesn't matter anymore. It's not like it's DR and DB anymore, it's just DB. Germany is one nation, and it's railways aren't divided either. So do we really have to divide it for "variety's sake"?

    Probably not, no.

I just thought "2022-1990=32" I couldn't have cared less about the specific date in this context. I knew it was October but couldn't remember, and I couldn't be bothered to check for a simple forums post. Right enough, considering who I was replying to I should have expected a correction... I'll go and edit that post to make everyone happy, shall I...?

I would imagine you would use the same argument for classes in the UK then. No need to have a valenta HST when we have the modern version or the various steam / electric and non heated versions of earlier diesel locos etc?
And given the clamour when "the wrong dostos" were used I think people DO want variety and different versions of essentially the same thing when the context is there to use them

You do have a point there and for the Valenta HST it has a different sound than the MTU HST in Game. For this, it will add different locomotives to run on German routes in the game. Even the West German answer to DB BR232 the East German DR BR132 will run differently from it since it's either Diesel Hydraulic or Diesel Electric propulsion which requires a Generator field to be Activated. For wrong Dostos you're talking about the Hamburg Lubeck route where it's a high entry 786 781 instead of copy and pasted ones from DRA DCZ RSN Main Spessart Bahn

It's not about division, it's about trains - plain and simple. At this point, there is a decent variety of former DR locos (112 - technically bought by DB but still mostly a faster 143, 143, 155, upcoming 232) and only a slowly rising offering of former DBB locos (363, upcoming 420). It's not about dividing Germany again or anything like that. Older DBB locos (Einheitseloks, 151, 111, 218, ...) are a different driving experience from older DR locos and would be a nice addition to the sim.

There's a difference between variety across era and trains (the HST Engines, for example), and just saying "oh yeah, we need more trains that originate in a state that doesn't exist anymore."

East German trains and West German trains are all German trains. They're all in DB Red (provided they're with DB), so why does it matter if it's West German or East German. We should judge what trains would be good for the game not based on if they came from the West or the East, but if they would make for a fun or interesting experience. The OP is carving the units into the DDR (DR) and BRD (DB), saying "why doesn't × train have it's West German equivalent?". That's my point.

Correct and for DBB what is the closest locomotive to a DR V100 seen on Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg Port shunter? You did tell me that DBB BR363 = DR V60 which the game should also have

Well, that sort of goes hand in hand. West and East German locomotives were developed in different countries with different design ideologies (not talking about politics, technical design philosophies and such). As such, they provide a somewhat different experience to what we’re used to (modern 3 phase AC and DR electric locos).

Now I get your point. Yeah, just doing one because it’s from the west is not ideal, but as I said above, a lot of them would provide a new and interesting experience.

That would be the DBB V100 or Br 211/212.

Of course, so I presume if there was an interesting East German route (from the period) you wouldn't have any problem with DTG producing it as such...

I think trains from the two Germanys are quite diff, so the OP's suggestion isn'y actually wrong. It would be no different to asking for EMUs from the north of the UK. I do think both types have their charms, so I'd like to see both.

Absolutely correct and there are suggestions for multiple units from northern United Kingdom therefore this suggestion mirrors that proposal.

Except there's a difference between asking for the correct train for that route, and asking for trains for the sake of it. It's a bit like asking for a class 195 on London commuter because it comes from the north

No, I wouldn't have a problem with that. And if it was a West German route I'd have an equal reaction. I feel personally that it doesn't matter if [DR Train] doesn't have it's DB Equivalent.

Find that helpful and for DTG they might find a route that can have the DBB V100 211/212 as a locomotive. Some in the community will run that as a 204 DR V100

That will most likely have to be something vintage. While some 212s are still in service with private EVUs, most have disappeared after DB Cargo got rid of theirs around 2004.
