Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, January 28th and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5PM Sunday, January 30th a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. This weeks theme will be: Slam Door Trains (Edit: To specify, the screenshot can include a slam door train / coach from any era and country)
Just a generic comment, consider whether it's a little too restrictive, unless all the older rolling stock (MU and coaches) count, being manually operated. Picking a bit on "locomotives" I understand the topic as Class 4xx 1960-1980s British MUs. (I could check my old 101/421/455 stuff, some regulars may not have them though.)
If you're wondering what counts, anything with Slam Doors counts, it can be a locomotive or a coach. (It also doesn't matter which era or country its from too)
Exiting the tunnel at St Leonards Warrior Square, a BR Blue / Grey Class 412 on the 1066 Hastings Line
"Clearing The Way" .................... but sadly not clearing the fog. Loco:- AP Class 205 "Thumper" Route:- South London Network.
A Wesh Bubble Car takes on passengers at Leominster. Loco:- Class 121 "Bubble Car", Class 101 (in the background) Route:- Welsh Marches
An Intercity 125 HST loads passengers for a run up to Holyhead so that they can catch a ferry to the Emerald Isle (Ireland).
A class 205 'Thumper' departs Brighton for the final time and heads towards London on the Brighton main line as the class are finally being retired. I'm sure there were many railfans on the final service.
Due to a lack of available class 43 HSTs, the mid-morning St. Pancras to Sheffield passenger service is being pulled by 2 class 31s instead. Loco numbers: 31407 (Intercity livery) and 31459 (BR blue)
Sorry for taking a while to judge the winners, but here are the results! In 3rd place is Nick Y with this unique and unusual screenshot of 2 Class 31's hauling the Class 43 HST slam door coaches. In 2nd place is cscarpenter with this amazing screenshotshot of a Class 205 making its way through thick fog. Our winner for this week is Craigie-C with this beautifully realistic screenshot of a Class 419. All screenshots that were submitted this week were amazing, so it was definitely a challenge deciding which was best. Well done to all the contestants! Thank you to these people for participating this week: Craigie-C, cscarpenter, Nick Y and JGRudnick. I will now let Craigie-C take over for the 4th week.
Thanks Blazin, much appreciated. I have set next weeks thread with a theme of Famous Landmarks https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-contest-2022-week-4.51495/ I look forward to seeing all of your contributions. Good luck to all and thanks for keeping this thread alive, I really enjoy it.
Those Thumper shots are amazing - you'd be hard pressed at first glance to see they are not real photos.
