The whole route needs to be changed to accommodate the Class 484 as they are built to a different gauge than the Class 483.
The only way that will work is a separate timetable option with the modifications. Think of it as GWML Diesel Legends
we don’t need al the other stuff that they did in the work just the train but if we could have it then it would be good but we don’t need it
They rebuilt the second platform at Brading to allow for a even half hourly service (then, for some reason when the line re-opened, it was an hourly service!). Also, I believe that the trackbed in the Ryde tunnel had to be adjusted to allow for clearance of the higher trains.
The 484 is noticeably taller than the 483, so some stuff had to be done just to accommodate that: • Platforms Raised or Tracks Lowered at stations to line up doors to the platform. • Works in Ryde Tunnel to fit the trains. As well as that, Brading has it's passing loop again, and the 3rd Rail on the Line is up to 750 V DC. + Some other things, I think.
