The line between Alton and London Waterloo is 45½ miles long, with the Mid Hants line being 10 miles long and the line from Pirbright Jn to Basingstoke being 18¼ miles long. Also to be included is the 2 small branch lines to Hampton Court and Chessington South, making the total mileage 82 miles. The line has a wide variety of scenery and traffic, from the hustle and bustle of Waterloo and Clapham Junction to the quiet and calm of Alton and the Mid Hants line. Obviously, this would require a huge amount of stock to be included, so I shall try to keep the list as small as possible

    Proposed Rolling Stock
    • Class 450 in South West Trains livery[IMG]
Operates the majority of SWR express and semi-fast from Waterloo, including services to Alton & Portsmouth Harbour. Formed of 127 4 car units that have a top speed of 100mph.
    • Class 455 in South West Trains livery[IMG]
Operates suburban services out of London Waterloo to Chessington South, Hampton Court, the Waterloo Circular and many other places as well as trains to Dorking

    Heritage Line section
    • Class 50 no 50027 'Lion' in Network SouthEast original livery[IMG]
Would form diesel services operated on the line. Has a top speed of 100mph. Could be layered into Diesel Legends of the GW timetable.
    • Class 205 'Thumper' in BR Green livery[IMG]
Could also be used on diesel services. Was part of the batch of 3 car Class 205's built in 1959. Has a top speed of 75mph.
    • SR Lord Nelson Class no 850 'Lord Nelson'[IMG]
Built in 1926, has previously ran on the mainline. Currently not used on the mainline though. Has a top speed of 55mph.

Also included would be BR Mk1's in a Southern Green-esque livery.

    Potential DLC
As per my last suggestion, these will be listed in the impact they could make to the timetable.
    • Class 444 in South West Trains livery[IMG]
Operates express services to Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth & Portsmouth Harbour. Formed of 45 5car units which have a top speed of 100mph.
    • Class 707 in South West Trains livery[IMG]
Operates suburban services to Chessington South, Windsor & Eton Riverside as well as the Waterloo Circular service. Formed of 30 5 car units, with 12 currently with SWR and 18 at Southeastern.
    • Class 159 in South West Trains livery[IMG]
Operates services to Exeter and Salisbury. Formed of 30 3 car units, 8 of which are converted from Class 158's. Both subclasses have a top speed of 90mph.

Not more 3rd rail, and 7 new trains is about 6 to many.

Great suggestion with much variety and differing scenery to be seen.

Nice suggestion but not many people want to see another third rail British route...
