Hello all, I am able to edit the route and scenarios. I can also save the edits. But, when I go to hit the Play button to run the scenario the game freezes and stops responding and Windows says the program stops responding and must be closed. This happens in both 64-Bit and 32-Bit versions of the sim. There are no error messages or dump files being created. I have tried doing multiple integrity checks and downloads on the local file system through steam. I have removed the route and re-installed it. I have also done system restores and file restores and the same thing happens. It is not happening to any other routes in the sim. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken
If the problem is not affecting other routes in the game doing a System Restore or a File Restore is pointless. Go back to your scenario and see if you can still edit it - if so close it and come out of the game That would help remove some of the files the game hold in its memory Then go back in and try running the scenario from the Drive Menu If that does not work it could be a problem with one of the trains you have in the scenario Having backed up the route go to it and remove all the trains apart from the player train. Swap whatever you have as the player train to a Default train from DTG - it does not matter but a diesel would help. Try the scenario now - if it works with the DTG train change it to what you had. Hi Peter, I tried what you suggested and that didn't work. It still stops responding when I have any trains in the scenario. It also stops with no trains in it. I can launch the route from the World Editor. The Scenario editor seems to not be working for the route.
If you can open it in the Route Editor but not in the Scenario Editor then there is a problem with one of the trains in the Scenario And if you cannot get in to the scenario Editor to remove them then Deleting that Scenario and Start again is one option. If you use TS Tools you could remove all the trains except the player one
I ended up getting it working by removing the Railworks folder from my hard drive and replacing it with a backup file I had from a previous date. Seems the installation got corrupted somehow.
