Olten wouldnt make sense. The s18 continues as s1 from luzern to baar.

Well, yeah, honestly. Obviously it would look better than TS classic just by virtue of being on the new engine. But when driving I (and many others, I’m sure) mainly only look forward out of the cab, meaning surrounding scenery isn’t even being rendered in a lot of the time, and most of that scenery is pretty sparse and barren as it is on most routes to begin with, so it’s not like it would require such a drastic downgrade.

In an ideal world I’d want the best of both worlds (detailed, long routes), but appreciate how unrealistic that is (due to both the immense work load and large file sizes).

I’d love to see some longer TS classic routes get ported/“remastered” for TSW.

*cough cough* WCML *cough* North Wales *cough cough* *wink wink*.

I'm wondering what would the freight locomotive be? If I have to Guess Re484 Traxx Quadvoltage ES64F4 Re474 with SBB CFF FFS freight wagons including the Zagkks LNG wagon. Does the line use the old ZUB123 Integra Signum or replaced by ETCS the European positive train control system

Yeah, that does look nice, and very unique. Something that's European and isn't red!

Screenshots look fantastic so far, looking forward to seeing this in action on a livestream.

It's a shame the route is so short, but I would rather have a good short route than a mediocre long route.

I'm going to optimistically observe the developement of this one. While Rivet's content hasn't been great so far, they have definitely improved with every release. What's most important about this route is the RABe 523 Flirt, so hopefully they can get this one right.

And for the length, I'd rather get a shorter and more accurate route than a rushed extension like we saw on WCL. Besides, the S1 ends at Sursee so they'd actually need to make more trains to lengthen it.

This would be a more natural end point.

I'm not really enthusiastic about it.
Also, if there's one thing I've learned with Rivet, it's that it's not worth buying anything from them at full price because of the sheer number of launch bugs coupled with how slow they are to fix them... if they ever fix them, that is.

All this makes this route a candidate to wait until it's at least 50% off.

Guys! It is a FLIRT! Finally Stadler enters the game!

If it's possible to use it in the livery editor...there will be livery galore after a few weeks!! The FLIRTs (especially this type of FLIRT) are used all over Europe!
    Magnificent choice.
And it appears to me like this is a 'test-route' for Dovetail/Rivet for testing out the unit and the new ETCS system.

    I am happy!

I think we have seen improvement from rivet so I think i might consider this. If it's anything like the jump from arosa to Cornwall it will be good.

Interesting... Oh wait it's made by rivet. Lemme go through all of their DLC.
    The 204 - who remembers this? I sure don't, the 363 and G6 exist.
IOW - alright, but sounds are ripped from the 72 stock.
Arosa - man, the 4/4 sounds are AGAIN ripped from the 72 stock, and physics are nonexistent, and trees are blobby.
West Cornwall - 150 actually has original sounds but physics are again nonexistent, and for some reason they didn't include the HST.

Yeah, like others, I just hope they don't mess up the flirt but unless that is really good, I have no reason to buy a 25km 9 station route.

Having only seen the loco and a limited part of the scenery - I've ought to say that, at least compared to the first Cornwall Article, there aren't any major issues that jump out at me. Is this Rivet's chance to succeed? I do hope so...

Rivet, I know it's not 100% realistic, but if you could include PZB, that would be so awesome! Sure, it's maybe too much hoped for, but maybe it's doable? Cause then they could be used with scenario planner on german routes with working safety systems.

Stop it. Asking Rivet for going off the path of realism and take short cuts im afraid they are actually consider doing it. ;)

My suggestion in this case would be a Flirt operated in germany as a separate loco dlc.

Sounds promising but so did West Cornwall and the WCL was presented with appalling inaccurate scenery. As this is a short route I hope the scenery will look more authentic. I hope Rivet don’t rush out this route. Please take time and present it in a worthwhile state. This will be the first route I haven’t bought and I will wait to see video’s from DTG, BA and MS to look at it. If I like it, then I may buy it in the sale at Christmas.

Those are IC (InterCity) ones, so we do not see it, on this very short route.
The locomotive for them is the already "classic" but modern SBB 460

    SBB 460 + IC PASSENGER.jpg
I would like a Swiss route for such train!
Around 60 kms long would be great.

Lucerne station it has a very modern but complex design. It was made by famous Spanish architect Calatrava.

    LUCERN STATION CALATRAVA.jpg
    LUCERN STATION CALATRAVA 2.jpg
Let's see how it is represented on TSW2 ...

I visited Switzerland on 2002, and went to the station.
    It is very impressive!

Hopefully the creation club livery sharing might mean two things:

    1. existing stock as described above can be used on this route with SBB branding from the sharing facility
    2. stock like the flirt which is widely used on other lines can be layered in to existing routes and take the correct livery from the creation club as long as you have subscribed to it

Ah thanks for that the loco looks quite smart too. So how old are those carriages?

It would be great to have those and a decent length suitable route.

IIRC, of extant TSW locos only the MRCE 185.5 is equipped with Swiss OHLE compatibility.

It's also compatible with SNCF 25kv 50hz due to the same pantographs used in Switzerland being compatible with SNCF 25kv 50hz this is seen at Lucerne & Olten on MRCE BR185.5 bound for Metz Woippy via Strasbourg or SNCF BB37000s Bettembourg Metz Strasbourg Basel Muttenz Olten freight. Try the BR 185.6 if it has a voltage change switch

Someone earlier in this thread posted a link to the MRCE website, and at least according to MRCE themselves the ES64 from Hamburg-Lübeck is available for operation in Switzerland. Not sure if the TSW model is capable of that however.

At first glance, it seems good to have worries but I hope this will be the route they can actually do well. There is a saying that go slow you live on. I hope they won’t run out as the route itself is nice and the Flirt 1 train complements it well. I wouldn’t mind pushing the look as I think the route would be pretty empty compared to the original I would make another Swiss train maybe a 420 and extend the route to Olten or Baar. I also think it's a good idea to add it to the route in DLC form. I will keep an eye on developments and hope lisent Rivet to community.

The short length would not be a problem if,
    a) it is highly detailed
    b) it had a freight train and massive yard

Unfortunately, I doubt we are going to see the outside view, since the upcoming Harlem line, is not going to have an outside grand central terminal view as well, but maybe I'm wrong. Who knows. ;)

MCRE have multiple types of ES64U2 and U4s. Some U2 variants have 3 pantographs while the version in HBL has 2.

The fact that there's a Flirt and ETCS coming interests me. The fact that it's being done by Rivet though, well, let's just say I'm more confident in Newcastle finishing in the top 10 this season.
