My suggestion is to add container brands for the larger containers - 53 ft - on USA trains. There is one, that can be added immediately: CSX ones on UP trains. Recently I saw a video of UP trains, there several CSX containers appeared on those trains. Then, on one hand, as we do not have nowadays, - no branded larger 53 ft containers- on the UP train, some CSX containers could be added, and it will be as the real world!. On the other hand, CSX double stack trains, could also add the 40 ft: One, Hapag Lloyd, and Hamburg ones! Furthermore it will be great if DTG could contact a 53 ft container's companies through CSX, UP - or even NS - in order to provide them contacts with one of its big containers customers. Like HUB, EMP, UMAX, JB HUNT, or even the new AMAZON PRIME ones, etc. These new branded containers could also be added to the new NS route Horseshoe Curve too.
Just to note not all container companies ship on all trains, some are bound by contract to their respective carrier, for example Schneider National just moved their contract from I believe BNSF to Union Pacific, and they already have a contract with CSX, so they could be added for both SH and SPG. https://schneider.com/company/news/schneider-intermodal-moving-western-rail-service-to-union-pacific UMAX is another logical candidate, as they also offer services with both Union Pacific and CSX, alot of CSXs old 53ft containers are actually now owned by UMAX. Example of Ex CSX containers with UMAX reporting marks. EMP I believe is in a contract with UP and NS. I talked a bit about these in my own proposal awhile ago: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...tic-north-american-container-companies.41604/
Another suggestion related to this, but about the freight cars directly: It will be nice, if DTG starts contact with TTX, in order they authorize to have the simulator freight cars branded too! Double stacks, Boxcars, Piggybacks, and other types of them, which are part of TTX's fleet, will be really great to have on the trains too!. Then providing a more real look!. Hopes also BNSF can be added to the sim, as comments about the global license permission was accepted by the company!
Yeah we will see on this they should be good to go they have permission just a matter of time I feel!
TTX would also be great to have, especially since they are seen on pretty much any intermodal, autorack, or manifest train.
Anthony ... in my opinion JB Hunt is the "less attractive" container brand to be used on the sim! Due to their "paint scheme" it is the container completely white, and their logo is very small in the top left corner. Despite of that, it is one of the more common container companies on USA trains. At least on the west coast. I will prefer more colorful ones. Even CSX ones, are white too.
I wanted to bring this up since I know it’s branded Tank cars like Procor which should be on a lot of routes including Horseshoe Curve. Do they have the rights to do these on Horseshoe curve?
How about Ocean Network express pink containers these should also appear on Sand Patch Grade double-stack trains since SPG connects Rockwood, PA to Port of Baltimore, MD via Cumberland, MD and also Horseshoe Curve a Port Newark, NJ to Pittsburgh, PA freight via Easton Delaware River Bridge originally CRRNJ Allentown, PA Hump Yard. The only US route to have this is Sherman Hill
Oh no Horshoe curve have these I have videos that show that. There might not be a lot of them but they do have some .
this is a dot-117 tank car with a shield front and back. Only Sand Patch Grade has the DOT-117 post-Lac Megantic accident US Canada Tank Car design. By the way, do you have a Video of ONE Ocean Network Express shipping containers on Horseshoe Curve?
I made it using Livery Designer. Both black and white also weathered Take a look Unfortunately due to an error of the Livery designer Software I can not use them!
Furthermore I have also made the TTX double stack freight car But despite of those repaints, it is better will be available as part of DLC, as they are even more detailed and based on real models.
That’s too bad the developers need to start designing these cars for people that can’t use livery manager like me I tried had issues installing it! your designs look very good great for the Community!
Alaskan Jack Thank you very much for your comments about my repaints. Nice you liked it. What happened with my tanks it is incredible! It was my first time with Livery Designer. The first attempt was not good enough for me. So I used the function "Copy", to create another one, but keeping part of the job done. This second version was finally much better as the original one. It is the black one you see on my picture. When running the sim, I noticed the previous one also appears there, then I made the logical thing: I deleted it! Well after that, the others ones I made "mysteriously" does not appeared any more on the sim! That is annoying! I made a claim about it, but never received a solution.
So sorry for all the work only to lose them Better luck in future it be nice if dovetail can get more companies onboard so we can have these skins on our Tankers and Boxcars etc
Alaskan Jack, I love the TTX Boxcars very much.t indeed we have them here in the Midwest too plenty of them![/QUOTE] I do too! For that reason I created one with Livery Designer Please take a look. Please notice I made it with the only boxcar available at that time. The CSX one! It is smaller and it has only single side door. I also made a weathered version. Since UP Sherman Hill now there are the UP bigger boxcars with double door, which looks similar to TTX ones Then I was thinking on making a repaint using them. Of course on that ones, I will use the new TTX logo, as I did on the double stack freight cars, shown above.
Saw a bunch of these Trinity 31,000 Crude Oil Tank cars being hauled up Horseshoe curve in a consist pretty nice tankers we need these on this route if Skyhook would make then and are approved to use
Yes they have ONE express network intermodals on Horseshoe curve along with Swift JB Hunt and a slew of others Hub group CR England also.
Are the ONE Ocean network express containers also in Sand Patch Grade? Reason for this is that they form an Intermodal freight to the Port of Baltimore
I’m really not sure, but there’s a pretty good chance that they do heck we have them in the Midwest also.
