Is it possible to do some self free roaming locomotive training on TS2022 without being in a set scenario? I need to develop my operational skills using TS locomotives.
You can go into freedrive and select your route, start point, destination and loco. This will just be you driving from point A to point B with no time pressures.
thanks, so when in freedrive and selecting a route with start & destination point and locomotive, can I also make up a train with a few rolling stock too as a training session?
You'd be better off using Quick Drive where you can use pre-created consist (formations) or create custom ones, select you route, where you want to start and stop and away you go.
What's described there is Quick Drive (which I think the first response is conflating with FreeRoam)- agreed that it is a good way to get to know a route. FreeRoam scenarios drop you into a route in free camera mode and from there you can basically click on a train or loco' and drive around changing the points and making things up as you go along. Making FreeRoam scenarios is very easy (there's any number of YouTube videos about it and you'll learn in a few minutes)- I use them to set up screen-shots while some poeple use TS for little else.
