During the tutorial of the 766.2 on the DCZ Journey Mode, it's mentioned that applying too much power when accelerating, will cause traction motors on the loco on the other side, in this case a 143, to cut out. Anyone know how much power it takes to do this? Or is there a general rule of thumb when it comes to how much force is applied when accelerating in the 766.2?

I believe it depends on conditions... personally this is behaviour I have seen when the loco would go in to wheel slip (which will depend on track conditions).

Thank you, are there any recommendations you may make regarding throttle percentage?

No more than 75-80% until you get up to around 100 km/h; reduce that by ten percentage points in the wet and even more in the snow.

I think the recommendations for the 143 (force selector) are 40% to 5kmh, 60% to 20kmh, then as required - not sure how that translates to the 766.2 throttle

Note however that from the cab car there isn't any way to control the traction force selector back in the loco
