Could try Googling your monitor optimum settings for gaming. I thought mine was okay but actually was set way too dark and smudgy. I did have to tweak the brightness down slightly after following the settings as browsing dark print on white background was burning my retinas, but it eliminated some of the shadowy daytime darkness. Doesn’t help much with the woeful pitch black night graphics innTSW, though.
if you are editing engine.ini check if it contains r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0 delete it or try a slightly higher number like 0.25
