The Piccadilly Line is 46 miles long, making it the longest tube line on the network. It is currently operated by the 73 stock, but these will be replaced within the next few years. upload_2022-2-27_12-12-56.png

    Rolling Stock
    • 1973 Tube Stock upload_2022-2-27_12-14-15.jpeg
Operates all the Piccadilly line services
    • Bombardier S7 & S8 stock upload_2022-2-27_12-16-0.jpeg
These units operate services on the Hammersmith & City, Circle, District & Metropolitan lines. Piccadilly line shares lines with these units from Hammersmith to Ealing Common and Rayners Lane to Uxbridge. Would also be used as AI on GWE.

Support this suggestion as long they make a connection at picadilly circus to change on foot to the bakerloo line.

In short if its a merged routes from the gameplay side. Would be a nice feature, even if those 2 not share the same tracks.

So we would have the ultimate subway network with hopefully a busier timetable.

That would potentially pose problems; Its the reason we don't have Heathrow express on GWE. I would however prefer a mid 70s piccadilly line. Heres why:
There are 2 Trains to Drive, the 59 Stock and 73 Stock.
    The infrastructure is more interesting.
We have no electric routes set in 1950s-90s (unless you count DLOGW)

I still maintain that the Northern Line - set in the late 70's or early 80's - would represent the best option for a second London Underground route. Piccadilly comes a close second and I would agree with the post above that setting in an earlier period, maybe before the Heathrow extension was built even, would make it an excellent route.

Ah ok, suppose the route could terminate at Hatton Cross instead.

Excellent Idea but you can't end the Heathrow Branch at former RAF Heathrow now Heathrow Airport since British Airports Authority owns Heathrow tube stations which were built in the Mid 1970s except for Terminal 5 2008-2011 timeframe. Therefore it must end at another 1975 built station Hatton Cross. DLC train can be the New Tube for London where you must lift the seat to run the train manually like a Glasgow Metro train set.

Pretty sure T23 and T4 are TfL - T5 is shared with Heathrow Express and is integrated into T5

Technically yes, technically no. T1,2,3 is operated by TfL, T4 i'm not sure but i believe its also TfL & T5 has non-TfL signage but there are tube roundels and other tube things in the station so my guess is T5 is 3/4 TfL & 1/4 not TfL. Alternatively, we could have a 1975 route which starts/terminates at Hatton Cross or if its just T5, maybe a route set around 2005 because T5 wasn't opened until 2008 i believe

Now this is a route I would love to drive on as I would love to drive the S7 & S8 Stock london underground / Overground Trains.

Well tbh I think they can use all the Heathrow stops cause they seem to have Underground roundels at all of them meaning TFL probably own them (just the tube platforms). And for T5 they could just make the glass, separating the LU and TFL platforms, opaque so that we couldn't see through.

I've not been through the tube side, but on the HEX side the platforms are quite narrow, with glass walls dividing them from the central concourse where the lifts up to Departures/Arrivals are. When you pass through the gap there is a sign stating that you are entering a restricted area and Airport regulations apply beyond that point. A big one being that you could only enter if a passenger catching a flight or with otherwise legitimate business at the airport. The platform being Neutral Ground because they have to give an opportunity for someone to turn back.

I don't think this is the case at T2&3 HEx - as the airport bus station is something you can be using without hitting the restricted area. I've only ever flown from T5 at Heathrow so can't say where the Restricted areas start for the other Terminals

It wouldn't surprise me if TfL 'own' the platform* but as soon as you step off it you are in the airport zone.

I'd also advise that taking the number of reference photos needed without clearance from Heathrow WILL attract the attention of Airport Security and/or Plod to escort you from the premises - See https://filming.heathrow.com/ - they charge a lot for commercial filming or photography

*The station was built by Heathrow Airport, so I suspect they have overall ownership.
