On this service, I just get rolling. PZB in U mode. Have yet to reach the first signal. Have cleared monitoring. Doing well below the speed limit because of the steep grade. Sifa of course is answered. But as I pass the station platform- again, I have not passed a single signal save the shunt signal- I get an unexplained Zwansbreumsung. WT actual F is going on here?????
Were you doing more than 25km/h? You could of gone past a 500hz before the signal if you do more than 25 over them (monitoring or not in the case with U) they have that emergency break effect you're describing.
But it was not a red signal- so the 500 should not have been active (anyway, I was only doing about 17).
That is probably a Speed Check by Standalone Track Magnets (GÜ durch allein verlegte Gleismagnete). It is there to make sure you are following the 25 Km/h limit and do not pass the "30 Km/h" signal that is aprox. 150m away faster than you should. When the speed limit is between 10 and 40 Km/h you get a single 500Hz magnet instead of the usual combination of magnets you have seen hundreds of times for higher speed checks.
I did a test before to see exactly where the 500 Hz magnet was. I thought I was doing well below 25Km/h with 100% dynamic brake, but the grade increased fast and I went over 25 Km/h in a couple seconds without noticing. Could that have happened to you too? PS: Yes, the track signal just after the first switch says 70Km/h but the in-game UI speedometer says 25Km/h (guess that is the limit for that loco/load combination in that track). The speed limit signal that is 150m away from the 500 Hz magnet says 30Km/h.
Oh, for gosh sakes- I figured it out. That was my mistake: hit PZB Frei going into a green/yellow. That was why the 500 Hz popped me. (Admittedly, you can't see the signal from where you start0 but there's no point in clearing it if you're limited to 25 anyway!
And that is the point. If you can't see the next signal aspect you are not allowed to clear from the monitoring. And even if the next signal shows a clear aspect, you can have a active 500Hz, especially there where you are have a speed restriction of 30kph somewhere (that's why the 500 is active). Simply do not release from monitoring when shunting!
