Can someone please find out which route currently has loud track sound, because i can't think of any? I think that LIRR Have really good track sound and so does Boston Sprinter Route, but don't know about the others. I gladly appreciate it if someone can find out thanks
The ICE on Köln-Aachen also has great track sound. One time I was playing with volume up on speakers (instead of headphones like usual) and at high speed the train produced a really good rumble that made my whole desk rumble. I could feel the train through my desk, lol
Do you not have routes and trains? You can't expect a forum member to survey every route in the catalog to answer your question. Do your own research if it's that important.
Not Really I only have some of the route but not all of them and that’s why I am asking the community to try and help me find out.
Silly question and to play devils advocate, if I spend my time trying to find out the routes with track sound (have nearly all dlc) and then share this with you what value beyond a forum post from you (or me) will it add . You get an extra post or I do. DTG don't acknowledge. It discreetly sits as a preservation update on all routes for 12 months. What are we using our personal time for,?'
All the trains have some form of running sounds. Only the BR612 (and IIRC the G6) has audible flange squeal when going around corners. Whether they are good, or mixed to a good volume is a different question, and can be subjective. The only train that almost completely lacks any running sounds are the Rapit Transit Talent 2, the BR422 and Class 395 are very quiet as well (I think by design). You can watch gameplay of any DLC you'd like on YouTube, take a look and decide for yourself.
How Do we as a community let our voice be hear so that the whole team including Matt understand how we feel about the track sound topic? Don’t you think by now they should know how important these sound are to the community? If they did add the track sound on the route the first place before it release, this shouldn’t have been pass to the preservation crew team since they already been hold back with all the old stuff. in my own opinion this is not helping Adams Team at all, it’s giving him more work to do. The track sound should have been one of the task that the Audio team should have remember to do, regardless they do an amazing team on the train sound and engine itself.
To be honest, not as much as my personal time unfortunately. I do agree there should be better sounds but then the constant squeal of the 612 regardless of speed and the high pitched electrical sound we had in the 185 annoyed the heck out of me. I’d prefer the people I pay, you pay, that are paid, recognise it’s missing (Side note, 1 message is fine rather than splitting every post into 2-4 replies chap )
Easy, if a route you overall don't like has good track sounds, you buy it. If your home route (or any route you would love to have) has awful track sounds, you don't buy it. Consider all other factors you consider "important", and make your decisions. It's called to "vote with your wallet" and is the easiest and most effective method to steer a company towards producing something you like more. I didn't buy the BR187 just to see it around as an AI train because I want to make sure Skyhook gets the message that releasing something that bad is not ok. I didn't buy WCL because the physics of the Class 150 were too awful. On the other hand (unless they massively screw up ETCS) I am pretty sure I will buy Luzern, even if the timetable is going to be lacking because I want more swiss standard gauge DLC. Most up to date example, are you really annoyed about the british PIS on the Harlem line and want to let DTG it's a disgrace and a complete immersion breaker or something? Don't buy the route even if it's pretty good and you want it with all your heart. I shouldn't have bought SMH because of CCS, but I did, tried to refund it but couldn't.
Do you know how does a player such as ourself edit these sounds since they can't do it? Do they at least give us the tool to configure the sound? I think they should just give us the tool to edit the sound ourselves, that way I don't have to ask them to do it.
There are some mods, available on PC only which edit sound. AFAIK It's more difficult to do compared to TS. The best way I found to talk directly to modders is on the "TSW modding" channel on the not official discord server https://discord.gg/4uk4tEUD
Let's face it, even if some people won't buy it or do but during a sale, DTG will still make a good profit over it because enough people bought it to meet their quota. It's clear that DTG will continue to do some of these things regardless unless something internally changes.
I did try, but unfortunately, some people can't even help me because they themself are having trouble, and don't know how to.
I can't help you neither. I do play on console so I don't even have access to the unofficial editor or anything of the sort. Someone there gave you a direction to follow though If you are actually that passionate about it, learn Unreal Engine 4, and the basics of coding yourself, watch the videos she(?) recommended and you can get there. I can't help you get any further I'm afraid. Good luck
