I have TSW2 on PS5, and I am enjoying it even more than I thought I would. I got it in the winter sale with East Coastway for under £10, which has proved an absolute bargain.
Problem Is, I cant play it enough, due to family wanting to use PS5, TV etc.
I have a self built PC upstairs, but its getting on a bit. Core I3 6100, 8gb Ram, and a GTX960 4 Gig. SSD etc. Will only be playing at 1080p. Would you expect reasonable performance if I switched to TSW2 on PC?
With the current Steam sale, its got me tempted, even though I am buying the same game twice.

    Any thoughts?

I would suggest take out free trial of xbox game pass for pc and download train sim world 2 for free to try it see what kind of performance you would get if it is poor uninstall cancel free trail and then you would be out no expense too try it. It should run okay though i used to play it with those specs

Are you the only user of the PS5? Because if so, you could simply put it in your room.

As for those PC specs, they might be able to run in on lower settings. You can get it on Steam and refund in 2 hours if it's not running well

If only !! :D The PS5 is in the living room on my nice 55" Oled. Its going nowhere.
We game quite a bit as a family, but everyone else finds watching me drive trains boring.
Might try the Steam test tonight.

Bare in mind that any rush hour routes are more intensive than the core routes, so if you are only just getting decent running ok th core game then you may struggle with later DLC.

As an example although 8Gb Ram is advertised as min spec in reality you'll need 16Gb.
Id also say an SSD drive is a requirement although this isn't stated.

    Thank you.
Upgrading to 16gb would not be an issue, but still costs involved. SSD I have as standard.
Thanking about it more, I do enjoy sitting on the sofa whilst playing, which is also quite near the fridge ;)
Sitting at my PC can sometimes feel like I am still at work.
Think I may stick as I am for now, especially as some DLC I want is on sale today.
Will just have to find the wife and daughter something else to do.

Even though your PC specs are below the recommended levels, heck you've nothing to lose by trying. Use the settings available on PC to scale up or down the visuals little by little.
Let us know how you get on.

I enjoy TSW2 on my laptop which is way below min specs (according to the steam recommendations). Running low graphics does suck but I enjoy it enough to overlook it.

A GTX 960 should be able to run medium settings pretty nicely. What I'm woried about is the CPU instead, as hyperthreaded dual core seems pretty weak.

Also upgrading to 16 gigs of RAM is a good idea.

When Im working away from home I run it on a Lenovo Idea Pad s340 - Ryzen 5 using its Vega gfx and 16gb of RAM (way way way below min specs) - I put the textures to ultra so it looks pretty but turn shadows off and everything else to medium or lower.. The trick then is to run it in a centered full screen window (black borders all around) thats only 1280x720 and the lowest AA. On core routes you still get an average of 30fps on somerset you can get much higher lol and it still looks sharp (If you filled the screen it looks a horrible blur even with AMD sharpening)

i run TSW2 on i5-11600k 2tb hdd gtx 1650 gpu 4x8gb 2933mhz ram, game runs minimum specs, I think my bottleneck is the 1650 gpu and the hdd, i'm thinking of wanting a 5 times faster m.2 ssd drive and an rtx 3060 gpu
