I'd ask those who more familiar with DB services. After the update I can drive the 101 along the Köln -Aachen route but there is only 1 IC service available. Is this because there are no more an an average day at all? Or is this a bug? On the other hand this route became much much more enjoyable with the new scenario pack and the update. Drivable S-Bahn services, more locos both drivables and statics, more traffic. Now I really enjoy this route.
There appears to be just one in the service timetable for me - and it's very dark too. However there's a mod by Alexander L if you want more 101 hauled ICs on the route https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...1627-db-br-101-schnellfahrstrecke-koln-aachen
This is accurate and not a bug. In the year the route is set only one service from Aachen to Köln operated. Nowadays it's none.
Yeah that's realistic. It's a route that takes any IC a long way from a direct path from origin to destination so it does not get regular traffic. These days no ICs operate it at all. I was also a little disappointed to find out it would be at night but can't argue with an IRL timetable.
By the way, how much does the New Journeys expansion add to the route if I only RSN? Only the S-Bahn?
Think so yeah. It includes the 423 that runs S6 (AI), S11 (AI), S12 and S19. IIRC the extras were HRR and the 101, maybe DRA for static 363s.
Yeah would have been nice to run by day but it was fun to run 101 with LZB. BTW the 423 also has an LZB button, also it has the distance countdown instrument in front of the driver. Is that only me who could not get it work or is it not simulated in the game?
Well, the 423s on Köln do not use LZB because the S-Bahn lines are not equipped with LZB. You can clearly see it that the LZB cable isnt on the S-Bahn tracks therefore the 423s cant use LZB there.
Ok, good to know, I just watched a video by Matt where they used 423 with LZB, I think that was München? On that video he put 100% throttle, nearly right after from start and also 100% brake before stations. Is that realistic on the S-Bahn? They also had Br 185, 143 available, how? I have Rush Hour our with those locos, so why I can't see them?
"They also had Br 185, 143 available, how? I have Rush Hour our with those locos, so why I can't see them?" The reason for this is that the BR 185 is subbing in as a layer from the Main-Spessart Bahn DLC and the BR 143 is subbing in from the Ruhr-Sieg Nord DLC, so you need both MSB and RSN to make them available as player trains and AI trains. "On that video he put 100% throttle, nearly right after from start and also 100% brake before stations. Is that realistic on the S-Bahn?" You have to keep on time and S-Bahn timings are quite tight but as a good driver you always find a balance between punctuality and treating the equipment with care.
You can get just a bit of LZB action in the 423 with the empty stock runs to back and forth to Aachen. These are also good runs, especially the return to Aachen at the end of the day.
Correct Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg and for DB BR423 S-Bahn Köln it's ported from Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg 1:30:00-1:40:00 in this stream
Yep, this is what I was watching and I became curious about the LZB. Also this is where they us 100% throttle/brake. JustWentSouth: could you refer service numbers please? I would go for it tonight.
Sure. They are ECS services at 20:23 and 04:00. The 20:23 service is excellent and involves a relatively long wait at the start with PZB action into Aachen. On the original timetable, they ran with the 425. The expansion pack has them with the 423. See page 14 in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/awesome-tsw2-service-mode-runs.32010/page-14 Near the bottom, a user on PS4 says that the 20:23 service in the expansion pack is greens all the way. I am on PC, and the service is the same with plenty of adverse signals. Either way, you do get the LZB action with the 423.
Thanks that was really only less then a km LZB, but at least I tried it. That excel with those runs is awesome! I really enjoy that.
Abd the ICE? there are not all the services it would have been necessary to add all the AI services around koln ICE RE RB RB25 RB27 ICE from stuggart ans yes add the couple and decouple for the ICE 3 because the ICEs are couple and decouple in Koln HBF
the köln station is always very empty it would be necessary to add all the trains IA ICE IC freight but all the trains which circulate every day
but I would like to say that the ICE to Brussels midi this decouples with the ICE to Amsterdam at koln station
You mean ICE Line 78 Amsterdam Utrecht Arhnem Oberhausen Duisburg Dusseldorf Koln. For SKA DB BR101s can also do the nightjet trips 07:30 Koln 08:15 aachen if the OBB Taurus has Broken Down
