Amsterdam - Arnhem Route The Route The route covers the 95 kilometre (59 mile) Dutch main line between Amsterdam Centraal and Arnhem via Utrecht travelling through both metropolitan and rural scenery. At a length of around 100 km, this could be a good opportunity for DTG to start creating longer routes for TSW. The route has a maximum speed of 160 km/h between Amsterdam and Utrecht and 140 km/h between Utrecht and Arnhem. Amsterdam Centraal Station LocomotivesDBAG BR 406 ICE 3M The ICE 3M operates services from Amsterdam to Germany via this route. It operates with both Deutsche Bahn and Nederlandse Spoorwegen as part of NS International services. This train would also have re-usage potential for German routes as well. NS VIRM The NS VIRM operates InterCity services across the Netherlands including the Amsterdam-Arnhem route. The recent Ruhr Sieg Nord route has shown that DTG can create double-deck trains for TSW, making the VIRM a possibility. NS ICM Another type of InterCity train in the Netherlands, the Intercitymaterieel is an iconic Dutch train which definitely should be added to Train Sim World. NS SLT The SLT operates commuter services along the route, providing a variety of passenger operations. NS 1600/1800 Class The NS 1600/1800 Class can be used for both passenger and freight operations, and is used by both NS and DB. ServicesThe ICE 3M would operate the international services stopping at Amsterdam Centraal, Utrecht Centraal and Arnhem Centraal stations. A variety of InterCity services operate along the route, which can use either the VIRM, ICM or NS 1600/1800. Some InterCity services only travel between Amsterdam and Utrecht, whilst some continue to Arnhem. Different commuter services also operate between the major stations along the route, using the SLT. Freight services can also be operated along the route using the NS 1600/1800.
