Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

    This week's theme is: Junctions

You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice?

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    • In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Friday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!
(Please Note since the new update which changes loading times we have decided to change it to 1 week)

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/

UP DD40X #6917 leads a eastbound piggyback train over the Keddie Wye sometime in 1984. Due to an increase in freight traffic and lack of power at the time, UP put 25 DD40X's back into service. They would remain in service till 1985, when the traffic surge played out, and the use of the large units were no longer needed.

    Route: Feather River Canyon
    Locomotives: EMD DD40X, EMD SD40-2

Williams Junction is the scene of this shot taken in the spring of 1992. We can see a plethora of engines and cars here as three trains come together. From left to right, we have Amtrak's Southwest Chief led by two brand new GE P32-8BWH locomotives with an older EMD F40PH behind, an eastbound Santa Fe manifest freight led by a trio of EMD F45 locomotives waiting for the Chief to clear, and finally, a westbound Santa Fe hotshot TOFC train led by four of their brand new GE B40-8W locomotives.

Route: Arizona Divide: Williams - Winslow
    Locos: P32-8BWH, F40PH, F45, B40-8W

That “King” is a Castle. Kings have a different front bogie and are numbered in the 6000 - 6029 sequence.

A junction in railway terms is where one track splits into two tracks to allow trains to go to two different places OR where two or more tracks come together from two or more places to become one set of tracks going to one place.

It's time for some Austrian alpine action. We're on the Ennstalbahn route were an ÖBB 4744 ‘Cityjet’ re-joins the main line at Bishofshofen, while an ÖBB 1044 with a train of Hbbills heads north.
