As nothing in the TSW sale interests me, currently weighing up whether to get Welsh Marches or Helensburgh to Fort William. The former is reputedly very good, but the latter will plug the gap in my “Freedom Of Scotland” ability, i.e. able to take a virtual journey from Carlisle to Mallaig with an imagined walk from Glasgow Central to Queen Street!
FYI, there is a merged route that runs through Glasgow Central and up to Mallaig. Unfortunately, that version had to be withdrawn from the Workshop (it was a freeware version of Suburban Glasgow), but there is a new merge of at least WCMLN with SUG and you can go to Helensburgh. You can even visit Neilston if you want to, but not sure if it's completed yet. Of course, the Glasgow Queen to Mallaig service is still possible. Different merge.
These steam sales are dangerous for my wallet. Picked up about 15 new routes...have to stop. Is there a way to tell steam to block myself from spending over a certain amount? I need parental controls on myself! But....at $4.50 how can I not buy TSW2 even though I already have it and a massive amount of dlc on my xbox....haha good job Dovetail...you got someone who never buys dlc to go nuts on this.
I think this recent sale has been a good one as I have bought quite a bit of American stuff this time around as I must have bagged about £300 worth of items for around £62. Happy times ahead not to mention a shedload of let's play videos to come on my channel over the next 2-3 months reflecting these additions. I am very happy. I do recommend Arizona Divide, Stevens Pass and the Aurora Chicago routes. Very nice add-ons in my opinion.
I bought about 14-16 add-ons and I am not finished yet. I will likely get the Raton Pass and then I will wait for the Easter Sale before I go mad again. I only ever buy big during the sales so I don't get burned if the quality of a certain add-on that is needed for a freeware reskin or route is required. I have really been enjoying the Stevens Pass, The Racetrack Aurora Chicago, Feather River Canyon, Arizona Divide etc. All cracking routes. My only bad add-on is the Independence Day SD40-2 as the coupler broke on the wagons which although I didn't fail the scenario. Its more of an annoyance! But the other add-on's like the New Haven EMD FL9 and the GE P32AC are great overall. I do recommend the EMD E8 Amtrak Pack if that interests you buddy as the Miami route is my favourite US route of the lot!
The boxcars? You should try Introduction to Sherman Hill. Guaranteed occurrence. It is that, not the Independence Loco.
Just a heads up, only 7 days left of the heavily discounted Plasser & Theurer pack @ £5.99 She's marching onwards to the one thousand sales mark steadily but surely
Yes, a pity still that after nearly 2 years that it's been out, the BR logo is still the wrong way round on the models according to the screenshots on the ATS website, and it still hasn't been corrected after all this time, and I told them at the time of release and got ignored for being a busybody, so, I won't obtain it.
It's supposed to be that way around? Here, let me find you a reference photo... https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagonphotographs/h55814C4C https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagonphotographs/h55814C4C#h558144dc https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagonphotographs/h55814C4C#h55814a84 Hope these help Accuracy is important... it was like that on the original units? If it was the right way around, I would have modeled it the right way around. Dunc
I've used this sale to see if TS2022 runs on my laptop & it does so I've binged on anything WCML I could find & last night I finally got to drive an 86 along the WCML after waiting probably 15 years
Caledonia Works has a 30% off sale, excluding rolling stock, until Mar 31 2022. The needed "Discount Code" is found on their Facebook page. (I just bought their new SR L1 class, but haven't had a chance to drive it.)
Yep I have acquired the LSWR T9. Also didn’t rush to post about the sale as this thread has moved away from the original intentions.
In truth, I have most of the UK trains I need and the new stuff is not yet in the sale but it will be in the future I am sure. I am focusing more on the American trains and stuff for now and I recently bagged the Stadler Eurodual from RSSLO so I am going to be very busy for a while and I also bought Train Station Renovation for my July let's plays. Also there will be the Easter Sale coming soon as well on Steam so if I miss anything. I will be back for another go in Easter. I am getting the Raton Pass route next.
There are repaints for this loco on RailSim.de - depending which version you got - RSSLO have made two
Last few days left to grab yourself an absolute bargain https://alanthomsonsim.com/product/gold-star-trains-dr73106-ballast-tamper/ 7 units for £5.99! Fully branded and it tamps
I decided to treat myself to this - nothing in the DTG Sale has grabbed my attention. I might never actually drive it - unless as a positioning move but it will do as AI and an Engineering Yard filler.
Much obliged Peter, thank you! It does work fully, but it's yours to enjoy as you wish - thanks again
Me too. I mainly do German and North American but willing to support developers wherever (and almost whatever)
Ok, the sale on steam ends tomorrow so asking for opinions please on some UK stock I've been looking at (waiting for some routes to go lower in price). On my wanted list I have the following items: BR Class 60 BR Class 89 'Badger' BR Class 105 Duchess of Sutherland (even though I'm not that into steam) BR 303 EMU BR Class 419 'MLEV' LT Heritage DP1 Deltic BR Class 105 BR Class 14 'Teddy bear' What are these items like and are they worth investing in? I'll also be picking up the tamper from ATS whilst on sale.
Nick Y, Yes get them all. You won’t be disappointed. If you cannot afford them all, the dearest ones will possibly be cheaper in the June or Christmas sales.
Can confirm that they're all worth it, some of the units deserve the AP treatment, such as the 303 and 105, the 60 too... the 60 and 89 have alias enhancement/soundpack mods available on ATS too.
Thanks nwp1. I can afford them so that's not a problem. Some of the routes I want never seem to drop below 50% though so I will have to keep checking sales. Yeah, most UK content could do with the AP treatment tbh. Some of the sounds are shockingly bad.
Some routes in TS will never drop below 50% due to publisher restrictions. Glasgow Airport add-on and the German airport add-on never seem to go lower than 50%, also The Japanese ‘Forest’ never seems to go lower than 60%. Get the routes and stock, you want now and this will give you more options in the next sale or two.
Aerosoft is a big one. Berlin-Leipzig never seems to get more than 30% off. It may be good, but it is also dated.
As one sale ends, another small one starts. Absolute bargains for the recent Class 700 and North Wales Coast Line: Crewe - Holyhead Route DLCs at £4.19 and £8.74 respectively: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1804515/Train_Simulator_Thameslink_BR_Class_700_EMU_AddOn/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/...Wales_Coast_Line_Crewe__Holyhead_Route_AddOn/
Do not forget the BNSF goodies. The original DLC at 24012 is 65% off, as is the ES44DC Heritage with two Surfliner scenarios (tutorial does not count). The first of those DLC may be in the asset pack, so can be seen as a scenario pack. You will also find sales on the last returned items to ROW Customers. The SD70 V2, SW1500, and GP9 are each 65% off. The CSX and Bloody Nose liveries have not been discounted in this sale.
£4.19 (to DTG) and £14.99 (to AP) to make the unit well worth it, we are still looking at almost £20 for a loco with no GSM-R or additional features that go the extra mile. Not sure what to make of it. In other news, the tamper sits at 830 units shipped (lifetime), 140 this past month. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has picked it up. MPV will be along very soon.
We know about the tamper. Regarding the 700, ATS patch keeps the train low in cost and enjoyable. Should suffice for substitutions as necessary if you have the 450 already.
Here is a comprehensive list of all the DLC on sale during this mini sale after the March Madness event. These items consist of mainly BNSF related products and some recently released DLC. (Ordered in biggest to smallest discount) Locos AT&SF SD45-2 (70% off) BNSF Dash 9 (65% off) BNSF ES44AC & SD40-2 (65% off) BNSF ES44DC (65% off) BNSF Locomotive Pack (65% off) BNSF SD75 (65% off) Burlington Northern F45 (65% off) GP9 (65% off) Great Northern F7 'Empire Builder' (65%) SD70 V2 Volume 2 (65% off) SP&S E-1 Class 'Northern' (65% off) SW1500 Switcher (65% off) Thameslink BR Class 700 EMU (65% off) Routes Cajon Pass (65% off) North Wales Coast Line: Crewe - Holyhead (65% off) Salzburg - Rosenheim (50% off) Mount Shasta Line: Dunsmuir - Klamath Falls (40% off) Marketplace BN Wagon Pack 01 (50% off) BNSF Wagon Pack (50% off) GP20 Burlington Northern Livery (50% off) Great Northern Wagon Pack (50% off) Chicago Racetrack Scenario Pack 01 (45% off)
I am happy to finally have them. But it makes me sad that all the BNSF packs went on Sale after I dutifully waited for the March Madness Sale, then they all go on sale right after I buy them.
Just bagged a lot of BNSF stuff tonight. Damn I am going to be a busy man with all the upcoming let's plays to show these on my YouTube channel in action. Well I got outbid on a model train so maybe I was lucky to bag more add-ons instead .
Same here, I bought the AT&SF SD45-2, the SD70 V2 Volume 2 and the GP9 for full price during the March Madness event because I thought they wouldn't be on sale for a while and I really wanted them.
Oh well, the AT&SF SD45-2 pack, Shasta Route, and BNSF ES44DC have all gone on sale. The SD45-2 pack and Shasta route have a surprisingly high discount for the amount of time they have been released for. So there is still savings to be had
Dovetail is having a "More March Madness" sale event on their website, which is basically an extension of the March Madness sale event but with a lot less DLC on sale, however there are some DLC being as high as 80% off with most being 70% off. This sale will last until April 4th 2022. Here is a comprehensive list of Train Simulator 2022 DLC on sale during this event. (Ordered from biggest to smallest discount) Games (70% off) Train Simulator 2022 (60% off) Train Simulator 2022 Deluxe Edition (50% off) Great British Railway Journeys Packs (30% off) Mittenwaldbahn: Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Innsbruck & ÖBB 4020 Twin Pack Locos (80% off) DB ICE 2 EMU (80% off) First Capital Connect Class 377 EMU (70% off) BR Class 422 '4BIG' EMU (70% off) EWS Class 66 v2.0 (70% off) Freightliner Class 66 v2.0 (70% off) LNER Black Class A3 "Flying Scotsman" (70% off) NKP S-2 Class 'Berkshire' (70% off) Norfolk Southern Heritage ES44ACs (70% off) Norfolk Southern Heritage SD70ACes (70% off) PRR GG1 (70% off) Southern Pacific GS-4 (70% off) Thompson Class B1 (65% off) PRR Baldwin Centipede (65% off) Southern Class 421 '4CIG' EMU (65% off) Union Pacific SD45 (50% off) PRR Alco RS11 Routes (60% off) Donner Pass: Southern Pacific (60% off) London-Faversham High Speed (60% off) Norddeutsche-Bahn: Kiel - Lübeck (60% off) Western Lines of Scotland (50% off) Norfolk Southern N-Line (30% off) Chatham Main Line: London Victoria & Blackfriars - Dover & Ramsgate Marketplace (70% off) European Loco & Asset Pack (50% off) Thompson Class B1 LNER Green Livery
There are a few discounts on steam right now that aren't very advertised. I spotted that the North Wales Coast Line: Crewe - Holyhead Route Add-On is at -65%
Thanks to this post I went and took a look only to see that I already own North West Coast Line... but I stumbled upon Tharandter Rampe route for TSW on sale for 55% off despite being launched in January. Thanks for this post!
If you have not played for two hours since buying them, and it's less than two weeks, you can refund and rebuy them. This is not seen as abusing Steam's refund policy. Generic reminder: The F45 is included with the BNSF Loco Pack. Do not buy it in addition.
If the 2hrs was based on usage of each the specific DLC, I could probably do it, but since it is based on playing TS in general and I bought them over a week ago...not likely to be under 2hrs. Besides, I was one of the people annoyed that BNSF content wasn't available. Now that they make it available, it's pretty hard to be too upset just because it wasn't on Sale.
It’s an irritation and DTG have been “insensitive” putting them on sale in the manner they did but I was happy to pay the price when they were finally released so it remains only an irritation. Just pleased they are at last available, they have unlocked masses of scenarios and third party routes so well worth what I paid.
