And only £4.99 if you already own the original route.

It's not massively different but certainly brings it mostly up to modern TS route standards. I am bit harsh on it as I live in the area, I wish they had made Carrow Road a bit more realistic and I wish my work place wasn't depicted as a housing estate, but those are very minor quibbles :)

Does it overwrite the original route as I've sort of backdated my copy to pre-Privatisation era, is this a standalone route with a different ID number can anyone advise please?
I also note that we need the VP trees and grasses packages, is this a massive hit on frame rates, as they are nice but a bit resource hungry on some routes.

    V2.0 overwrites the original route.

Missed opportunity regarding reverb under bridges.

There's no mention of this in the requirements. Are you looking at the right route?

There is reverb, are you sure you have EFX ticked in your sound settings?

As can be heard here.. From 0:25:13..

Not noticed reverb on all the bridges unless it's AP's excessive cab occlusion?

    Now this is interesting.

I still have reservations that this was not a free upgrade because the cost for Wherry Lines itself has not changed yet this upgrade is included there for free. It seems some assets that once came with the route were removed to account for the fact that the cost has not changed. It's still a questionable model - especially if they later remove the upgrade and leave only the one entry - but I guess previous buyers will have something that the other customers do not have.

One thing I have heard is that scenarios get converted to use the AP Class 37. Is this true on the Steam versions of the scenarios as well? Or only on the ones direct from the site? Or am I wrong?

Yes the scenarios now feature AP assets even if you originally bought the route from Steam. Although why anyone would want to run them with the clunky old Railworks 37 in 2022 is beyond me anyway.

It isn't a free upgrade on Steam. There's no update at all on Steam. If you want to update it you have to buy the update from AP like everyone else. I was just saying that the AP upgrade works with the Steam version.
Yes scenarios are updated to use the AP Class 37, even on the Steam version, which is a massive improvement.

Just simply clone the existing route the apply the upgrade.
If you don't like it you can delete it and still have the orginal

Or just edit the scenario to put whatever loco you want in there.

Maybe because they don't have it? Or maybe they think that £25 for the AP 37, which sounds much like the improved DTG 37 in Wherry Lines V1.0, isn't worth it?

Now that is interesting, but makes sense. I mean, the upgrade is intended for the version bought from the Web site.

But wait a minute. Does the upgrade include the new versions of the five scenarios that are not on the Steam version? I might have to buy this immediately...

No, it's not on Steam, and I never said it was. I said it was a free upgrade included with the version on the AP site while removing the old 37 (and possibly other things) from the package.

I now have a shed load of scenarios I never had with the Steam version, so maybe. I am not sure what came with the original AP version though, but here's my screengrab... you tell me... does it?

    Standard Scenarios.

    Career Scenarios

Not all of those may be AP... I've got all manner of crap in my TS install, but that's everything I have for Wherry. Prior to the AP update, I have a fraction of this.

It definitely is worth it. To get all the variants, and liveries alone is worth it, but the constant updates and improvements make this one of the best locos in TS in my opinion.
As an aside, I wonder if it replaces the MkII stock that used to come with the old Wherry line as well? I already had all three AP MkII packs, so I've no idea.

The Career ones are the standard ones with the Steam release, AFAIK. I think among the differences is that the Class 90/Mk3 formed trains in the AP version, are replaced with Class 170s(!) in the Steam version...

The variants and liveries are not worth much if they don't interest you. There are only 3-4 liveries and no variants that interest me. Apart from that, the clag modelling is quite nice, but is the driving experience much different from the improved DTG Class 37 in Wherry V1.0, which also has the improved sound set? Squashed bugs and wobbling aerials are interesting for a while, but not worth £25 to me.

I appreciate others have different tastes and priorities, and that's fine, but people shouldn't assume that everybody will welcome being forced to buy a load of expensive DLC to make use of the route upgrade, nor that the AP Class 37 is £25 better than the improved DTG one.

I do have the AP Class 37 pack 1 (bought in a sale) and I like the painting and weathering, but when driving it I always feel a bit disappointed; like it should be wonderful, but it's only good.

So.... after all that complaining about it using the AP 37 in scenarios, you have it anyway. If you have it.. why are you so sure others don't?

Just seems to me there's a lot of AP bashing in these forums. I don't get it. Without AP I'd have stopped playing TS ages ago. Pretty much all the DTG rolling stock is complete rubbish in comparison.

The Career ones probably came from Steam. The other ones came from the AP pack. The APC37 and others not in the 1-25 numbering on Standard, certainly, would be other packs from AP or elsewhere; I see you have a Not.Silent scenario in there (N.S144) and two ZZA Snowplow scenarios that I don't think are AP, either. I won't explore what "test" is.

test is just usually when I create something custom for the "unofficial screenshot" thread... or literally testing something.

That is one of the AP "Features" that annoys me as it cannot be turned off.
I'm happy with more features if there is an off switch for those that don't use or want them.
The Class 86EP is annoying as they have given us wheel slip in some seasons - even if you don't want it.
A brilliant sunny day and the loco picks up it's wheels because the Scenario is set is Autumn

Yes, I have it and am aware of that. :)

Heck, even non-AP will do that to ya on some trains. Default 175 decided it didn't wanna behave on a rainy autumn day on an official scenario, you have to literally stay in notch 1 unless you intend to hold the sand button down for a long while, then can finally sit at 2 or 3, and at high speeds 4. Otherwise, wheelslip. Good thing we're not playing Career scenarios with a wheelslip AP model.

Bet you wished you had an insect off switch in real life aye Peter!
fakenham The Bittern line as an extension to the Wherry would be fantastic.
