This route could be shortened to Ashford To Brighton (via Eastbourne), the service starting between Eastbourne and Brighton, which also does happen in reality occasionally. The class 171 would complete the entire loco range for the East Coastway. This route would complete the East Coastway route itself. On this route, before the Marshlink diversion, you would see trains such as 375s, 377s, 387s, 313s. At Ashford, 375s, 395s and 66 can be seen, all trains mentioned here have already been created! This route could utilise existing UK Diesel collections, especially if set in an older era. If the route was set in an old era it could include the iconic Hastings diesels. For a more modern approach, users could simply use the scenario editor to set their year of choice, e.g the 171 could be a DLC, where users add them alongside more modern locos to set the route in more modern times. We have 'Diesel Legends of the Great Western', this route is the opportunity to make 'Diesel Legends of the South East', with a potential route to Charing X, which is for another post. Including Ashford and Hastings in the game is bound to welcome a broad audience from SE England, these stations are popular with train spotters and rail enthusiasts. These stations alone also open up major opportunities for other routes in the future, Hastings has the 375s that go to London Charing X, again another route that has been suggested in older times with Hastings diesels, other London services can be seen at Ashford and of course the Eurostar that passes through, though this may be something to for the future. This route provides great variety, from the scenic ride along the completed coastway, into iconic Hastings, through Marshland and arrival into the business of Ashford Int. There really is something for every kind of player. On top of that, the great train selection through periods of History.
If you are thinking of a Southeast England network bundle here is the quote by trainsimplayer on integrating Ashford to Brighton Marslink route with SEHS . That way if the Southeast England bundle was owned you get BML ECW Ashford Ore Brighton & SEHS to Ashford for the same price as a regular route.
That definitely would be a very clever and convenient package, as the 'ECW full extension' would unlikely be a free update and if it was a separate package it would seem odd to buy two packages just to use ECW. Has that combination with SEHS and ECW at Ashford already been suggested to DTG?
I absolutely agree with you and then the long-term you are saving money that way. They want to keep going with that problem then for the German routes Rhein-Ruhr Region network Saxony region pack Nahverkehr Dresden with Tharandter Rampe.
Yeah, by that are you saying theyre currently doing something of a similar concept with german routes? And may eventually get round to doing this with these ones?
