    Hi,

I can understand why having in game advertising can be a benefit to DTG, and in a game like TSW it could be done in a immersive way. If it allows DTG to increase revenue and invest more into the game, it looks, at first glance, to be a good thing, but as one of the handful of people in the world that actually reads T&C's and related polices I have found parts of the Bidstack privacy policy that are questionable.

    For example:

    About you
Whether you are a customer, client or partner of Bidstack, a consumer of video games, or are just a visitor to our website, this Policy applies to you. We take your privacy very seriously.

    And

    Data Collected Automatically
    - Data Provided by You - Data Provided by Third Parties*
You play video games - Yes - Yes

    Followed by:

From your initial interaction with Bidstack, we are collecting data. Some of this will be collected automatically.

    Contact details
Name, address, telephone number, email address.

    Financial Data
Bank account number, sort code number, BIC, and.or other account details in respect of our suppliers, vendors and clients.

Are you able to explain why your new advertising partner, according to their privacy policy, collects players bank account details?

TSW2 has an in game store, but does not automatically collect enough bank account information to set up a direct debit, so why is your new partner? If a player has used the in game store, or now uses the store, is this information passed to Bidstack? What are we signing up for when we tick the mandatory box to confirm we have read the policy and click Continue?

Does disabling in game adverts stop them collecting this data? By playing the game am I considered to have given consent for this data collection, it is not clear what acknowledging this policy and then continuing into the game actually means for the player, as the above now forms part of the terms the players are expected to agree to in order to play the game.

As a person who has currently 42 DLC's for a game I am not really sure it is safe to play anymore, I sincerely hope someone form DTG could take the time to give an official answer.

    Thanks in advance,
    Colin.

Hey - thought I'd jump in here just to allay some fears.

These are standard terms from all companies who use Bidstack that cover a lot of bases and eventualities. We've been in touch with them, and their Legal team have confirmed they don't collect this information except when the studio provides that information to them directly. We do not provide that any of that information to Bidstack.

Thanks JD, their policy is not the best written document in the world and I appreciate you taking the time to clarify the details.
