While I may have missed the stream today (and might not gonna be bothered watching it this time round, unfortunately), so might as well say this one question in here. And that is, how too good does the route look right now for day one? [and no, I'm not gonna be looking in the "Definitive" thread either, rather have open-minded opinions on this one]
Looks very good overall. The GEVO has accurate sounds, and proper air brake physics. The scenery looks quite good too. All of the real signs at the park at the curve are present.
Looks great IMO. I really couldn’t find anything to complain about. They fixed everything that people pointed out in some of the earlier screenshots. One snafu where the car traffic on the road near the curve is on the wrong side of road (British style) but someone pointed it out and I’m sure it will get fixed.
One thing about the air brake though, it didn't behave like Sherman Hill's SD70ACe. When Tom (from Skyhook Games) applied the dynamic brake simultaneously with the auto train brake, the dynamic brake didn't cut off even though the engine's brake cylinder showing some numbers and Tom didn't bail the independent brake off. I don't know is it prototypical or not.
The GP9 is in the park and facing the correct position. I think at first he applied minimum reduction and make more application until it reaches full application, and still the dynamic brake didn't cut-off even though the independent brake is applied and never been bailed-off.
From what Matt's been saying about the US brakes on Sherman Hill, something is definitely wrong with these brakes implemented on HSC for sure (hopefully it's just an oversight that can be fixed later on). If not, then ok, very odd design choice indeed. And for the GP9, well I do hope it looks better than the article image then. Might just have to see the release stream next week then, if it's this good as a few of you say.
After all, last night preview stream was using dev build, so there is still a chance something can be fixed before public release on next Tuesday. Let's cross our fingers!!!
