    Good Afternoon,

Why was the Sd70ace been removed from Sand Patch?

The official reason was, that there would not be so much SD 70 were at SPG in real. So that means realism take us away variety. I would prefere they would let us the SD70 at Sand Patch.

It's the same with the so called more realistic physics. That physics would need so much ressources, so they had to reduce the trainlenght at PS4 to 40 car trains at SMH, CRR and HSC instead of the 50 car trains at SPG.

For the PS4 community the game development at TSW2 goes in the wrong direction.

Do I get it right: SD70 loco was available on Sand Patch before, but after one of the latest updates was removed because of 'reality' reason?

I would buy a PS5 if there was one for sale. So under 1000 bucks. And if I had one, I could only install part of all my DLC because of the 64GB limit. And I can't transfer my profile either. So what's left? That's right - the PS4.

You can't expect devs to keep working on old tech forever just because you can't get a ps5. There will be a time where previous gen will ceased to be worked on

I expect TSW to run without limits on the PS5 before I consider buying it. By then I would have more disadvantages than now. So all I have left is the PS4. Accept it as it is.

Perhaps. But the PS4 and Xbox One community is very much alive and it is much bigger then gen 9. And without gen8 customers TSW2 will not be an economic success in the next years. :)

That means gen 9 and PC customers allone are not enough income for TSW2. So in your own interest you should have a bit more emphaty for PS4 and Xbox One customers. :)

Exactly and it was nice. Then they reduced the services to 4 or 5 and then they canceled it completely.

And you can't expect PS4 customers to stay with TSW2 with reduced expiriance like before and finance with that your "full next gen" experience.

I think the same people, that are part of the bot-net and scalper community, that it makes it impossible for normal people like us to get a PS5 to a normal price, are the same people that try to teach us here, that our PS4 are oldtech and we should be satisfied with a treatment like a second class customer.

Strange decision, if SD70 was already there, they could leave the decision to the players: if you want your experience with that route to be more realistic - just don't drive it.

Even if I could buy a PS5 at regular price now - what's in it for me in terms of TSW? I have all the DLC (sorry for that) and also play them all crossover (double sorry). And with my "career" I can start again from scratch. Apart from that, TSW also has other problems on the PS5.

Guess I'd rather wait for the PS5pro because he who laughs last laughs best.

Exactly. The same with the 101 at TVL. They too
I will wait for PS5 slim at normal price. And the other condition is, that they solve the DLC limit issue on PS5. :)

It goes beyond that though; any substitution option will also spawn on AI trains, and it was getting to the point that there were almost as many yellow UP locos on Sand Patch as blue CSX ones, which was ridiculous

It wasn't. There were enough CSX stuff already. And when it is so much about authenticy, why we have the CRR SD40 on SPG? And DB on RSN, open ballast hoppers on CCR, blue V60 at DRA and DCZ and so on?

Because DB was running on RSN in 2007 which is when the route is set.

Orginal CRR. I don't have the New Journeys. To little content compared with the price. :)

And if it is so, why there is the 187 there. It is in service with DB earliest since 2014. And the 155 should be also not there, if you are 100 % "authentic". Because it is out of DB service since 2019, because DB does not need so much electric freight locos anymore, because of their shrinking cargo market. You need more "authenticity" examples? :) TBH that stuff, that is on the tracks should be there. Especially for more variety. Even if it is not 100 % "authentic". So DTG should bring back the UP SD70 Ace on SPG.

And yet, with authenticity, can mix up accuracy from reality.

And while the substitution on SPG have been rectified (except for the AC44 in UP and the original SD40s still spawning in), at least it'll be accurately close to the real counterpart as possible since the beginning, even if it's just the locos in CSX liveries and nothing else. And if you still want that ACe to drive on, well then you might as well wait until SPG gets the same physics upgrade that both SMH and HSC have, which it's gonna be a long while to wait for, and while at it, might as well be in a different livery to actually fit the route instead of being from another one that's not highly accurate to commonly see (but that is why there's a thing called Scenario Planner after all).

[And if you're just gonna ignore all of this, then that's your problem.]

With CCR I meant Cane Creek not Clinchfield. The shortterm for Clinchfield is CRR btw.

I know what initials are which (then again, you should've put in just CC or CCB for Cane Creek. That would've been less confusing to CRR. Just an afterthought).

[Plus, I'm half-awake right now. So that did not help my case from that part.]

Since DTG gave us the 3 car consist for the 101 at TVL with the last update back, they should do the same with the SD70Ace at SPG.

Sandpatch has had a lot of issues with substitutions. For a while the entire thing was basically full of Union Pacific locos and they were outnumbering CSX which owns the track. Also the CRR SD40 which isn’t even from the right era.

Now it seems like the UP AC44 and CRR SD40 are the only ones that remain. I uninstalled CRR so I don’t see the SD40 but I do see the AC44 in UP from time to time and it is available for a few services.

The UP SD40s are gone which is good because UP SD40s wouldn’t be way over on CSX lines in Pennsylvania.

The SD70 and AC44 are road diesels and could end up anywhere in the country as foreign power. So they would theoretically fit into SPG (although I would say they should reduce them for AI trains so they aren’t as common as CSX).

As for why they axed the SD70… not entirely sure. It seemed to run well on the route. One thing is in winter months the snow didn’t accumulate on it like all the other locos and it stood out like a sore thumb, maybe it was easier to remove it than fix that issue.

CRR is somehow still there (if you have the DLC installed) which makes no sense at all. SPG takes place in 2015ish.

Personally my opinion is for official substations and AI trains they should be shooting for realism. It is a sim after all. There is the off the rails option that would let you try any train in any track setting for people that are less concerned over realism.
