Hi all, I currently have Boston Rush Hour, Dresden Rush Hour and Nahverkehr. I find them a little bit limited and short and just wondering what tracks/routes are most popular, scenic and offer the most bang for buck. Some of the trains I find hard to set up and the view out the window poor. Like the CSX freight trains. Also, is there a way to be naughty! Eg; Can you drive unrestricted at high speed, derail etc? Perhaps TSW2 should build a segment like some games do, like Call of Duty's off-shoot Zombies and offer The Adams Family style scenes to crash trains off bridges etc! Blow up bridges or drive a train over it etc. Now that would be fun! Just for something different. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Personally I would say Northern Transpenine and West Cornwall local are very scenic and enjoyable to drive and have brilliant, beefy, beautiful locos but for length and completeness go for London Commuter as it is about 50 miles and covers the full line from Victoria to Brighton however you will be driveing a lot of electrostars which aren't too bad and isn't as scenic as the other two routes mentioned.
DTG has made it clear that this will never, ever happen. They're not interested in making violent games, and the licensors absolutely do not want their licenses used in this way.
Great thank you! I was wondering about the Cornwell one. What are the locos in this like to drive? As I find sometimes with locos like the CSXs if playing on PC you need to keep moving your mouse down to brake etc and loose visuals as a result.
You get the class 37 and class 150 which are nice to drive however I play on xbox so I don't need to move to brake but all the main controls are quite contained and the inclines give brilliant thrash. If you have northern transpennine you can also do passenger services on West Cornwall so can get a chance to drive the class 47, peak and whistler which are all similar to the 37 in the controls being near each other.
Really echo the Northern Trans Pennine recommendation, I think it remains my favourite route in spite of a few shortcomings. You really feel like you've been on a journey after the climb and descent, with parts where you can let the throttle out and relax for a bit, carefully managed braking on the descents and learning to master the ancient diesels is a fun challenge. It's always my go-to when I want an in depth journey.
Looking for a German route that has a Steep Ramp either sides are 130-160 kmh max Main Spessart Bahn High Speed Commuter with PZB HRR in reality the Duisburg to Dortmund Line via Essen Hbf & Bochum Hbf with Bochum Langendreer Junction to meet up with RRO & RSN via Hagen Vorhalle Witten & Wetter Viaduct
Surprised Dresden - Chemnitz hasn’t been mentioned. It’s scenic, engaging & offers longer services (aroind 1 hour). If you want a route that looks great, and requires your constant attention & interaction with the train, I recommend this one.
