Cumbrian Coast. Ideally BR days but I don't want to see the 101 with it lol - maybe a 108 but don't forget to get the internal rattling sounds and the whine of the gearbox this time. You've also got the loco hauled nuclear traffic. They'd have to do the scenery justice though.

So long as we don’t get Jeremy English’s inane babble from the Railscene cab ride! That’s with a 108 but got a feeling driven from the trailer. Mostly jointed track at that point, too.

Hehe I wonder what happened to Jeremy. He didn't half ask the traction inspectors some daft questions. Didn't mind some of the the more 'unofficial' cab ride VHS'. I forget who did them, the cameraman sounded like he was from the south east. He got even some.of the most miserable drivers talking about the job.

Edit. Oh apparently Jeremy passed away last year aged 74.

I think it has more to do with knowing their player base, than vision. At 38 I sometimes think I'm one of the older ones posting in this forum, and I still spend the majority of my simming time in TS1 because of the operational scope, stock variation and the possibility to revisit different eras in some cases.

Modern stuff being rubbish is rather subjective though. Repetitive, yes. I don't think we're quite ready for the 4th (?) iteration of an Electrostar, and yet another Class 66.

When I think of the stock I have travelled on over the last 3-4 years - from Class 37 hauled services on the Wherries, to Class 90 hauled services on the GEML, to Class 68 hauled services on the Chiltern Mainline, to Turbos on sections of the Chiltern/GWR, to Class 700s on the Thameslink, I'd find it very difficult to pick one that I'd call rubbish (unless we're talking about seating preferences). I can see the functional workhorse in all of them and it becomes a question of relatability.

Ah that’s a shame. I know I jest about his chatter, but get the impression he was a great guy. The Railscene series was innovative at the time and more than a couple helped me with my MSTS route building projects - Ayr to Stranraer and Cambrian Coast (for 3DTS) to name two. Being some 30 years old or more in some cases they are a precious time capsule of how the railway was in BR days, largely classic traction (though Stranraer was shot from a 156), jointed track and semaphore signals everywhere. RIP.

I had nearly all the Railscene cabrides on vhs. I liked the chatter, particularly some of Jeremy's dumb questions. ;)
Shame he is no longer with us. Good stuff for it's day.

Finish what they've got first the more they release the bigger the backlog. Otherwise you'll have a load of routes you can't play

The best one was Paddington to Bristol when the HST was brought to a stand outside Reading. Driver got back in the cab after using the SPT (remember those) and exclaimed, "Waiting platform, I could have built a f.....g platform...", made it through unedited to the tape/DVD.

Yeah one of my faves Vern and also for obvious reasons. The Swansea - Swindon HST one, which completes the full run. From Paddington - Bristol and Swansea. These days they stop about 50 yards from the signal, wouldn't want to be walking that distance to use the SPT. :D

Everything that dates back to the time around WCL, NTP and TVL. I can't get enough of those locos, and unlike with modern german and american routes, I don't mind if we get the same locos again and again.

Wondering when just trains will announce their first dlc.

My bet is they create a route, which is available for ts already. When at the time of the announcement no work was done, then its probably still 1 year away from now.

I gotta say a turbostar. Preferably a 168 with the appropriate route but any would do

I think I'd like to see some move away from the 101 - it's a lovely model and a massive improvement on the TSC version but there are a plethora of similar yet distinct DMUs I'd like to see brought in. The 121 Bubble Car, for instance, or some of the other first generation models might provide a bit of variety without requiring players to relearn the gear system and general layout. We didn't see it for Diesel Legends though so maybe that ship has sailed.

Good point how about a class 127 DMU. Remember if you have Class 127 DMU coupled to Class 101 assuming NTP TVL & GWML Diesel legends is owned please use Gear change control. Otherwise Service Failure Your train caught on fire. Reason forgot to operate Class 127 DMU gear selector mechanism.

    Classes 117, 118, 119, 120, 123.

Plus the WR routes, to run them on.
