It sure would be nice to see more Canadian content. I know, there are more train simulator customers in Asia, Europe and the USA but I can still wish. I am grateful for "Canadian Mountain Passes" and "Peace River" by Jonathan Lewis of Milepost Simulations. He completed 155 miles working east from Revelstoke to Eldon in the Canadian Rockies circa 2014. The 40 mile Peace River route set in northern Alberta runs eastward from Grimshaw to Daishowa Lumber Mill. Perhaps Jonathan is working his magic east and will eventually arrive at the "Quebec Windsor Corridor." That corridor consists of an abundance of various railways such as VIA Rail Canada of course, Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railway and Metrolinx in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The GO Transit Lakeshore West line eastward runs from Hamilton to Union Station and then continues on the Lakeshore East line to Oshawa. Branching off the Lakeshore West line at West Harbour is the Niagra line that runs weekends in Summer months too, of course, Niagra Falls. The Milton line runs westward from Union to Milton. The Kitchener line runs westward from Union to Kitchener naturally. Then there's the Barrie line that runs westbound out of Union Station then north to Allendale Waterfront. The Richmond Hill line runs eastbound out of Union then north to Gormley. Then there's the Stouffville line also running eastbound out of Union then north to Lincolnville. Metrolinx also runs Union Pearson Express from Union Station to Pearson Airport. UP Express Exterior UP Express Interior UP Express Route Map I realize this would be a massive project requiring a team of developers and could probably take years to do the whole area. Perhaps sections could be released periodically then, computer technology permitting, whatever the consumer bought could be merged into the corridor. It is so unfortunate Maple Leaf Tracks didn't decide to contribute to RailWorks when Microsoft Train Simulator abandoned us. They really made excellent routes at the time considering the software & computer technology at the time. Here's an example of a portion of the activity (as it was called by Kuju) I created back in 2015 named MSTS GO Transit #925 Scarborough Toronto. The best part is arriving at Union Station. That really shows the quality of work they did.
I too would like to see some more Canadian content as well, there are routes that can be added like this one.
Milepost Simulations has done both the Canadian routes, made he could do some more new routes. Maybe even extend the Canadian Rockies.
The Empress 2816 is still operating. Note the ditch lights. I took this photo in a Toronto rail yard and yes, that is the John Deer tractor I used in the yard.
My mistake. I responded to this post in too much haste. It appears I was wrong. It's hard to believe I've been retired for nearly ten years. It seems like only yesterday that I was on that unit, and yet, it's been over a dozen years. So far, this is the latest info I can find on this subject: https://www.deviantart.com/baltic-t...out-Canadian-Pacific-s-Empress-2816-665282573 The last photograph I can find is Photo ID: 633925 at http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?road_number=CP 2816 taken June 23, 2011.
What's about the busiest junction at Southwestern Ontario (near Hamilton) in Canada. And that is Bayview Jct which have much closer have 60 - 80 trains per day. John
I definitely would like more Canadian Routes want more scenic routes or Addons to Canadian mountain passes
CN edmonton to prince rupert also the chetwynd sub in BC and prince george to north vancouver , CP Shuswap sub , and the amount of CN lines in new bruniswick , nova scotia
I too would like to see some more Canadian content for TS. Would DTG be interested in doing a CP locomotive pack? Something like a GE Dash 9-44CW, AC4400CW and the EMDSD70Ace, SD40-2, GP40-2 and a GP38-2 for freight scenarios .
Can't say anything for the other locomotives, but Searchlight Simulations are doing an AC440CW, and it's going to be a good one by the looks of it - http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=20014
I will be getting this when it comes out along with their sound and other locomotive packs. I have all their wagons and horns that are freeware .
I like the CP diesel pack idea. I would also like to see a CN pack for the Peace River route. It could include a CN ET44AC, SD75I, SD70M-2, and GP38-2W. Maybe a GP35 or GP40-2 could be included too. Also, the packs need to include several freight cars.
Though I don't believe DTG will make any Canadian routes anytime soon, Vancouver to Squamish, Kamloops to Seton and old electric railway do have a lot of potential. I doubt I'll ever see a GMD GF6C in this game, but any BC Rail comfort cab content would be welcome.
Milepost has done four canadian routes, CMP (Revelstoke - Lake Louise), Peace River, Yellowhead Pass and an older route Fraser - Cariboo which I got from his website. Loving the scenic North, I'd like to see more from Canada too.
Contact him, email link is on the Milepost website. Jonathan was very helpful, quickly responding to queries I had. If you want that route, maybe there's a way (I just saw it's not on the site anymore). Be aware it has areas that are not finished and look bare, and it's pretty much a looong slow single track route. But a good one to enhance by yourself with the editor. And at 50 degrees north it's valid for AP weather.
I will probably will see a response on Monday as he is usually always good about responding to peoples email.
I too would like some Canadian Rail content particularly BC Rail and to include these locomotives and a route at least 100 miles
There are many reskins now for Canadian routes as well as well as new products. You just need to look for them. While a length of 80 miles is a bit short of what you are looking for, Yellowhead Pass is a route where most any Canadian equipment can run on and not be out of place. These F units are from Railworks America and the M420 is from Diesel Workshop.
