what happens is a question of humility, and of knowing what money is for. I can bet that I have more economic benefits in a single day, than Matt in the whole year, but I still respect my fellow man so that the image I represent does not lose. I have been growing gradually for 20 years, but growing. and I can affirm that I do not need to deceive anyone. pride in being honest. I affirm, I have more benefits in a single day than most of these people in a year. it is sad to see what some do for what they are a few centimillos. lose humanity for money. "It is not sad???" Now i am goin login out, because this people make me mad, i am human, like Everybody is dificult think in money first. Bi. Stay human.
Thank you everyone for continued feedback, we are keeping an eye on this thread, just for a hygiene note if you are looking to respond to multiple people at the same try and keep it to one post, by using quote, so people don't get multiple notifications.
Hm, somehow not a word that you will take care of the problems. Too bad, I loved the game very much and also paid enough for DLC's and did so with pleasure and with anticipation. But I also notice that I'm turning my back on TSW2 more and more and it will probably stay that way for the time being. Pity...
That's enough for me!! I was about to give the game another chance, but: 2 crashes at Dresden Riesa one after the other and the problem with the Dostos with the lights and in the cabin at Cologne Aachen and Main Spessart and so on has also existed for weeks. Bye TSW, bye community... I've had enough...
Me too, I can tell you that I was fooled a few times, watching some launch broadcasts, and seeing how beautiful and well done the route is, and when I went to play it was full of bugs, crashes and various failures, my biggest disappointment is Dresden - Riesa, trains stuck halfway, red lights that don't change, London Brighton the same thing, a bug here and there, sound not so efficient with window open, M7 LIRR no traction sound, this disappoints, I think it's not a problem for you to release something with bugs, that's normal, but the number of failures scares and discourages, even more noting in ALL FORUMS that most problems are VERY LATENT AND EVIDENT, that a child or teenager would notice, with all respect. Personally the main problem is the absurd number of failures that the DTG has been committing and the delay in solving them, perhaps giving priority to inconspicuous items, and leaving the elephants in the room. I hope that most of the more obvious problems like crashes, red beeps and some sounds will be resolved soon. Note: Please guys don't fight, we are all lovers of this amazing game that is TSW2, each one has an opinion on certain issues, and we don't need to fight, at most converge with the main objective, notify DTG where it is going wrong so that it continues their way and support other colleagues.
Hello friend, a tip, whenever you make a route to Dresden coming from Riesa, Corbion or Meissen it is sure that it will break the game in the vicinity of Dresden Mitte and Neustadt, my tip to complete it is you save before arriving at a station and then departing, it's the only way I can personally complete some service to Dresden, when it crashes I go back and try to complete it, that if I'm not caught by an immutable red light, I think since the launch I only have to having completed without crashing only 2 or 3 services to Dresden, leaving Dresden the services hardly stop.
My big problem with TSW 2 has been the Harlem line services. I managed to complete only 6 of them because in most of them when you arrive in Crestwood there are two trains stopped at a red light. Services towards GCT do not have this problem. Regarding the other lines, I didn't have any red light problems, just those sudden drops in framerate in dense areas... I use PS4 Pro.
Thanks, I'll try sometime... But for now I'm staying away from the game and will ignore all upcoming DLC's and also discard the planned purchases if there is a sale.
Two different games. I've posted some general thoughts (along with Railfan/PS3) on my site: https://www.heyimbill.com/j-trains.html
Hence why it's a good idea for customers not to pre order content and wait for reviews to come out before buying something. I waited for reviews and feedback which led me not to buy rush hour because of all of the issues with it. I haven't bought the Harlem line as well. Seriously I don't understand why customers pre order content. Why pay for something that isn't out yet. Also if a person can wait x amount of months for a game or dlc, surely a person can't wait a bit longer for reviews to come in before making an informed decision on a video game product. DTG has shown that what is on stream can end up being a bug riddled broken mess so it's good to wait for feedback before deciding to buy or not buy a dlc. Also don't pre-order. Not spending an additional $3 isn't much of a discount in my opinion
Let's Play is not for pre orders. Let's Play is about selling all the routes that have been released.
I know but what I said was more of a general statement for brand new releases in the future because we have seen that dtg will just launch a product and will not be in a better state for months.I mean look at the state of rush hour nearly 7 months after release. Also I just don't believe in paying for something that isn't out yet. Just my opinion
I agree apart from buying rush hour when it was reduced to £8 (Xbox), I haven’t purchased any dlc since last summer, and I won’t be.
Agree with both your points here. On the other hand they did produce that Ruah Hour content for 8th gen consoles, so they should either fix it to the way it will be (confortably) playable as some of the others well done DLCs of their or admit it is over their ability or too expensive in time to fix it, remove it from 8th gen market and return the money to the customers (yeah, right). I'm afraid though that may choose the cheapest, easiest way and just drop it, wait for more players to switch to 9th gen and then the issue (at least the one with optimization) will solve itself.
I also think, that DTG speculates on a fast switch of the majority of the console customers to Gen9. The possibility that speculation comes true is very smal in my opinion. Because of the problems in the international supply chains for microprocessors, it will be take probably about 2 years if that consoles will be available without the current restrictions.
I was actually shocked about the last roadmap stream. Personally I thought things were slowly getting better with frequent updates and the Preservation Crew items finally being released. With this extended break from 1st party DLC, does this mean no summer pack this year? Just curious, even if it does it will give me time to actually play more of the routes I already own so no bother either way. But I didn't think things were getting as bad as the stream sounded. Maybe because I'm on Series X I just don't have very many issues besides the screen flash and Xboz sound issues. But overall I'm pretty happy with the product.
The summer pack could just be a rehash of existing routes bundled together kinda like what dtg did with tsw2020 along with some sort of update to go along with that but this is just speculation
Let's hope that the "summer pack" is not like the update of October 2021 (156), which took 15 days to know how to do so as not to lose all the routes. (uninstall, reinstall, redo data, restart console, in DB 101 BR you have to do it like this. in class 21 it's different). Come on, chaos. this for the PS4, because there were different problems for the different platforms. What should be an improvement turned into a nightmare for users. hopefully the long-awaited "summer pack"not be the same . Regards.
I think the most problems caused the adaption of TSW to newer UE versions like in 2020 (TSW2) u. 2021 (TSW2 Rush Hour). Since then we have M7 without engine sound and so on.
I’m concerned that since this excellent thread has started nothing has changed . I was hoping for something by now . I wasn’t hoping everything would be fixed but NOTHING ! No doubt we will get the usual on the next map stream .
We'll await your verdict on Tuesday - we did say though that the majority of this work would likely take place after Spirit of Steam launches. Progress has been made in multiple areas, but a lot of the larger issues are complex projects that require prototyping on a smaller scale, testing, working out how to scale it up for the whole game, implementing, testing again, and being released in builds. We of course appreciate you want to see progress made, and we're providing information on that progress on Tuesday - to manage expectations, it's unlikely a lot of these issues will be solved in a matter of weeks (or, in some cases, a few months - in the case of projects such as the really complex stuff like the PS5 DLC limit or Xbox audio) though.
Is this not work that should be done before release rather than after? You know, in development, testing and QA? It doesn’t matter how you dress it up, it’s still poor
Not how software works any more. The game which was released (either TSW or TSW2, take your pick) no longer exists in any meaningful form. Each dev cycle more and more is added to the software and yes this can mean old things break or unexpected consequences occur. And then you have things out of DTG's control such as UE, windows, PSOS etc updates which can always mess things up Software working extant forever more went out with the birth of internet updates...
JD, thanks for the clarification, I'll do my best to keep an eye on next week's Roadmap and look forward to seeing significant items being discussed and resolved. We understand that certain fixes take weeks or even months, but please note that many issues have dragged on since the graphics engine update, and some perhaps even before that, we are aware of all your work, but we sincerely hope that at least the major issues that impact in gameplay, such as game breaks, red lights, switched objectives, (secondarily of course corrected sounds), are properly corrected and resolved. I believe that the biggest appeal of the community is this, and I hope you will listen to us, so that we can all continue happy.
The problem is the customizing software thing. The Unreal engine is the software base of TSW. And DTG is customising it with the needs for TSW. So far so good. The problems are the new engine versions. If you have a single closed software such a version bring some changes and you can handle it. With the customizing model each change in the engine can cause multiple changes in the 2nd softwarelevel, the customized software. And it seems it brings so much work to the preserved crew, that it seems that there is no solution for some issues. We had that at work with our business software with customizing model too. Each time if there was a new version of the base software, our software was not complete useful for weeks. With the new versions old solved bugs came back or some funktionalities were broken completely.
That's A problem You also have the problems caused by there being a "core game" and DLC and changes made to the core may affect the DLC Then you have that the track, signals, dispatcher and locos all interact and updating any one can change things in all the others, think about the red light issue on BML, initially caused by the AI trains not slowing down in time then running through lights the dispatcher didn't want them to (locking the whole game) so then they put in a slow down and stop clause which locked everything behind them anyways In other words when DTG say things aren't simple, they mean it
Yes you can have the normal software design issues and much much more because of the customization software model.
I don't see that being a single issue for DTG, I'm sure all of the issues cascade rather than having that single attribute
Hey mate,it was the disc version for £449. Received an email from Sony inviting me to apply for one in a closed sale, and was fortunate to be successful..
Thank you very much for your information mate. It's good to see, that you could get it for a normal price.
Did you ever had to decide between different softwaredesign systems together with IT-specialists in practice especially at work?
That's why so many businesses are shying away of custom made business software. I thought it was weird to compare TSW to a custom made ERP but I can see the resemblance in annoyances.
The transparency is appreciated, but I have hundreds of games on my console that don't require months of repair work and I can enjoy right now. Still, I'm glad to see things moving in the right direction as I have made a large investment in DLC, some of which is literally unplayable. Guess I'll come back to TSW2 in a "few months" and see how things are improving.
DTG really do need to get on top of the bugs for this title otherwise it will simply become out of control, the level of dlc's released would not be so much of a problem if they were not released in such a poor state adding to the backlog of work that needs to be done. No software is 100 % bug free we just want it to be of a decent standard
It's worth checking out our Roadmap article (and stream) from May to see what's going on behind the scenes.
It good to know that the save game issue is being looked into. It's such a basic feature, but with life, work, and an active dog, I can't always guarantee that I could complete a route in one go, when I sit down to play TSW. It would be nice to be able to save the game mid route, and continue it later without any issues.
Hey Unfortunately, I can't tell from this that the crash problems at Dresden Riesa or the lighting errors at the Dostos on various German routes are being taken care of, right? It's a pity, I've stopped playing completely because it's no longer fun.
They’re having an extended period of bug fixing after steam releases next week. There’s a lot they are focusing on. Be worth keeping an eye on things
This is what they are trying to fix right now. They are fixing the game so it becomes fun to play again. There is nothing wrong with putting a game aside and coming back to it after a few months to discover a game that has become fun again. Sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't. I"ve never seen it work when the developers said after 2 months, all is fixed, go eat your lunch". These things take time. The problems were severe so I would be very suspicious about DTG's plans if they would so soon after the publishing of this open letter come and tell us "we are ready. Here is everything you wanted, enjoy and here is 5 new routes as well". I would be very suspicious and think "no lessons learned". Let's wait this out and see what happens instead of drumming in front of the window of the workshop to see what they are doing inside. It's what comes out of the workshop that interests me, not how fast I can put my hands on it.
I think some are just expecting fixes to come out of the gate. Whilst an argument can be made that some fixes should've come months ago, players are just gonna have to wait a little longer. There are other things to do until fixes come like playing other games
I would also caution that the primary aim of DTG's "quality stand-down" is to prevent bugs being released in future DLC far more than going back to fix existing bugs. That is mostly the Preserved Crew's remit- although it's worth mentioning that apparently many held-up PC bug fixes will be released next week with the core update preparing for Spirit of Steam.
