Can anyone tell me how I can recreate a British Steel ore consist such as was used between Port Talbot and Llanwern in South Wales during the late 1970s, utilising the recently released AP JTA/JUA/PTA Wagon Pack? Using the scenario builder, I have set up the triple headed Class 37s without difficulty; but I am struggling a bit to understand how the consist was made up. The manual says that a JTA (outer wagon) was used at either end having buffers and a normal screw link coupling, then the consist was made up with JUA (inner wagons) which presumably had the buckeye couplers instead of buffers etc. When I select the JUA (inner) wagon in the menu, it appears to be identical to the (outer) JTA wagons with buffers at one end! We’re these wagons coupled back to back or have I selected the wrong wagons, or possibly is there an error in the wagon pack? I’d greatly appreciate some help with this, does anyone have first hand knowledge about these trains and how they were set up or used?
Hiya I think it is just a quirk of the TS editor. As you rightly say when you build the rake in the editor with a JTA at each end and JUAs in the middle they all look the same. However when you save and run the scenario they only have hook & buffers on the JTAs at each end of the consist and buckeye couplers linking the rest of the JUAs in the middle. Hope this helps.
Hi Craig, Thanks for the info, yep that sounds about right for the editor! I had similar issues when trying to load a version of a class 37 when they first came out; it looked as if I had split and central head code panels on the same locomotive; but when in game, it turned out as I had selected! I appreciate your input, many thanks again!
BTW, it’s a similar situation with the load in these wagons, by default, it shows a loaded wagon even when an empty one is selected!!
