Fuel gauges doesn't seem to go down and using fuel, especially on the newer and old routes. Seems Trains have unlimited fuel when the simulation doesn't work on the fuel part of the locomotive.

Then it's a arcade game and not a simulation. I brought the game for a Sim not a f word ARCADE!

Do you really pay that much attention to a damn fuel gauge

I think it's just because runs in TSW are too short to make any difference. Remember that train have fuel tanks with capacity of several thousand liters, which lets them run for hours before needing to re-fuel.

On WSR class 33 there is a scenario which includes refueling where you have to use the pump and fill it up.

Also the class 66 you can view fuel usage. I agree its not the most important thing as if you are playing timetable mode chances of running out of fuel is highly unlikely

Also locos and DMU's can go for up to a week between refueling, and since the game will ever simulate is 1 single 24h day the fuel gauge would basically move a fraction that you wouldn't even notice it if it was included in all the working aspects of the sim......

The digital fuel gauge in locos on Sand Patch also go down. (can't remember exactly which one)

So the fuel gauge is where you draw the line? On SMH the actual in cab signalling system doesn't work, the initial reduction is often too strong, depending on the locomotive you don't have a distance counter, etc... but the biggest problem is that the fuel doesn't go down?

I think on Sand Patch the fuel is simulated, maybe also on Oakville and a buch of BR routes, on those routes refuelling and fuel gauges should work.

Unsurprisingly I think "recently" they dropped this feature as it's completely useless outside of that 1 refuelling scenario, as the longest you can go with a diesel train is probably ~100 miles in TSW, which is nothing for a modern US diesel, or any diesel locomotive that is not a small shunter really.

It's a shame the oil pressure gauge (is it?) on the BR363 doesn't work either. Literally unplayable.

I agree, with you. It's a Simulation not a Arcade game. They should rename the game to Train Arcade not sim.

You should’ve read reviews of this game before you bought it . Lots say how this is more like a game than a simulator

I mean yeah you have some people moan that it's to realistic and simulated and should be more arcade so dtg can't win. But something about fuel is not game breaking as you never have to worry about it in the actual game

You do realise that you're talking about machines that have fuel tanks that take in the region of 4000 litres don't you? Even if they burn 1 litre a mile that's 4000 miles between fill-ups so the distances on this game ain't gonna move any fuel gauge more than about 2 millimetres so you'd hardly notice it in game!

If you are wanting to simulate fuel in TSW 2 all you need to do is press the emergency brake at any point you want the tank to be out of fuel

you will soon realise it is only slightly more dull than slowly watching the meter fall down

I can recommend you try Run8 and ZuSi for US and German content respectively. If you have a PC that is, I don't think neither of them requires you to have a great PC so even if you have a mediocre one give them a try.

    What is Run8 and ZuSi?
I am on xbox. My PC is so old it makes politicians cringe.

Zusi is a German train sim focusing mainly on realistic physics and system operation. It's basically a consumer version of a professional training software.

There is also a demo if you want to try it out. It's not translated as well as the full version but it should give you an idea.
