South London Network, from London Bridge to Horsham, plus the little branch line down to Epsom Downs with the Class 455/8 & Class 377/1 or Class 377/4, we will take the trains from London Bridge (With Some Southeastern AI, Class 375 & 465) and take down towards Streatham and down into Sutton & Horsham, and some 455s and 377s going down into Epsom Downs .

Personally we need more routes away from London as there are more regions than the southeast which have railways in them and aren't covered in game. Also I beg that we don't get another route with electrostars as they are as dull as dust.

If this route were to be made it should be done in the 80s as at least there was a few more interesting EMUs running in that area.

South London is a veritable spider Web of routes with many different possibilities and would create so many options for playability.

My only concern with a route like the South London Network in TSC coming over to TSW is that most services wouldn't be driven for their complete journey, having to hand over to AI control after about 30 minutes. You could extend it to Horsham and Epsom Downs but that would probably require missing out other areas to save on route length/complexity, resulting in the route becoming more linear and less network-type. It would be a good opportunity to include the Class 455 and Class 377/6 however.

Where else could we extend the South London Network to?

Beckenham Junction, Sutton, Wimbledon, Blackfriars (with potential for the Class 700) but then we're talking a lot of stations to model and a very complex timetable. It's an awkward route to find a good size for.

This would be a perfect "modular add on", given that so much of it is the same as BML.
With Horsham to 3 Bridges being about 8½ miles and Windmill Bridge junc. to London Bridge being 10 miles that's more than half of the route being shared between the two
Add in a 455 as rolling stock and you're only really missing the 700 (as usual)

I think the OP was talking about the Mole Valley line to Horsham.

Maybe we would have a South London Network West?

Victoria to Sutton (and Epsom Downs) via West Croydon. And then the faster part diverging at Balham to Sutton and Epsom/Dorking via Mitcham Junction.

Or London Bridge to Beckenham Junction/ Caterham diverging at Tulse Hill and joining the BML at Streatham Common.
Then Balham to Norwood Junction via Crystal Palace.

I've attached a screenshot of the Southern route map to illustrate, the purple lines represent the metro lines.

They specifically say "South London Network, from London Bridge to Horsham", so London Bridge as well

That sounds more like an SWR network, maybe waterloo to Shepperton with the Strawberry hill loop thrown in

Better than electrostars but before a route like this is made something more modern up north is needed first.

You said Three Bridges to Horsham was 8 miles.
I was under the impression that we were talking about the more scenic direct line via Epsom (not via Three Bridges), which is substantially more mileage (effectively Balham to Horsham)

Really excellent Map and also you can have a service that is diverted away from Gatwick Airport the normal Route for Horsham trains. On Brighton Main Line services these are Southampton Bognor Regis via Horsham.
