What is the use of RailWorks 2 AllAboardCore at the DLC? Also, which route do you use ES44AC (Unbranded) and (US Branded)?
Allaboard core is scenery for the Allaboard routes - Fort Kent, Ohio Steel 2, Rascal&Cottonwood and Colton&Northern. It also adds the ScaleRoads traffic. Used by older routes. The ES44AC is used in Tehachapi Pass - be aware that this loco has broken brakes ever since release, even after latest update. Also remove the unbranded one using Steam game properties / DLC list as described in some threads before. Having both branded and unbranded installed will crash the game when playing Tehachapi Pass. DTG Jamie DTG should definitely remove those unbranded packs - they are unrealistic, obsolete, useless and cause crashes for unaware players. But as DLC can't be permanently removed from library once purchased (only manually deactivated) they should update all these to contain just a dummy ap file. This would solve many issues people are having because the contents would not conflict with the branded packs.
No. What you buy will stay in your library - it's just not available anymore for new customers. Same with the Virgin Trains North Wales Coastal. I can redownload it anytime if I bought it before withdrawal.
In which scenario would you use the RailWorks CN ES44DC Pack DLC, RailWorks CN SD40 Pack DLC, RailWorks NS HighNose Pack DLC and TS2014 Steam Edition Back Ground?
Everything is branded now. No such thing as unbranded anymore. If you type ES44AC into the Steam Store you get this. https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=ES44AC
According to this post it was fully removed from the game. In fact I remember seeing it caused quite a bit of controversy and was thought of as the reason for DTG giving the Class 801 for free.
Again: Removing an item from the store does not mean removing it from your library if you already own it.
That's what I was saying. What you purchased stays in your library - even if withdrawn from the store.
IIRC the withdrawal and the release of the Class 801 happened at the same time, the 801 simply replacing the Hitachi SEC (but using a different folder structure altogether, so people who had used the Hitachi SEC in scenarios were SOL)
Okay, CN ES44DC Pack, CN SD40 Pack and NS HighNose Pack are included with Ohio Steel 2 Route; TS2014 Steam Edition Back Ground is included with Southern Pacific SD70M Loco. Thank you.
Some of these might be referenced in the workshop. You can also create your own scenarios using them. You can find them under RSC iirc. Cyclone played a few Castle Rock scenarios with them. I also recall torfmeister showing off Fort Kent scenario using CN, however all of those scenarios now use the SD40-2 from Classic US assets. I assume they were converted at some point. I don't know about scenarios available to customers. Maybe there are scenario packs now unavailable. Also timetabled scenarios didn't show up until recently so maybe these have some, so I may have missed. Practically, these are outdated models with inappropriate sounds and inconvenient driving position. You are safe to untick them (and the background). They are viable as stationary, or you may upgrade them at RWA indeed. The NS High Nose is essentially the same as the currently available one for the Coal District. Maybe different sounds, but it didn't remove anything.
Scaleroads? You mean the Scalerail thing? I know a site went down, 3Dtrains, that had that. Projects still exist requiring it, like an Irish route. I think they were the original scenarios. Though I plan to bring out others over time.
ScaleRoads is part of 3DTrains' ScaleRails subsystem - it is partially included in Allaboard routes. If you remember the Fort Kent thread, that was the place to fix the Black Walls bug.
Rascal & Cottonwood is by All Aboard from 2009. https://store.steampowered.com/app/24028/Train_Simulator_Rascal__Cottonwood_Route_AddOn/ plus these. https://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=All Aboard
But your comment could mean anything. I'm showing the links to them on Steam showing that they are still available.
And are ideal for beginners with “tutorial” type scenarios leading into more complex without being too stressful.
It's not a DLC as in a package you can buy, but an app (Steam term) that is included with the newer All Aboard routes. Rascal & Cottonwood references it for weather but doesn't need it, also the weather is broken (sky turns around). Colton & Northern uses it more or less, but apparently doesn't offer it either. I don't remember whether it's broken (I think not). If you right click TSC in Steam and go to DLC, you should find it, showing when did you purchase it. It will show when did you obtain it. You can always consult SteamDB about them. => DTG did nothing.
You already have a picture of this above, but for your reference here is the link: https://steamdb.info/app/24093/subs/ Notice that Fort Kent & Eagle Lake includes it in the package. So does Ohio Steel 2, which also includes the old RW NS HighNose (app 24051), the current Norfolk Southern SD40-2 High Nose (208354), and two CN trains in the SD40 (24053) and ES44DC (24054). Just for fun, there is a scenario pack no longer available (24074) that also included the last two. The reason it's pulled is most likely because they are Castle Rock scenarios. They will, however, work on the Workshop in the event you get your hands on them. I was able to get a copy from someone because I wanted to experiment with replacing the old model with the CP and CN models that come with the other Canadian routes. I don't know if I still have them, but the pack is no longer sold (I also can't instantly download them because they are not owned on my account) and, AFAIK, the scenarios have been considered abandoned. If I can locate the scenarios on my end, maybe I'll ask someday about creating new versions for the freeware Castle Rock Railroad in the Workshop using the current existing CN trains (which would no doubt sell for more than any scenario pack ever did). Also a fun fact: one of those CN trains doesn't have a thumbnail. You have to supply your own if you want one. Good way to practice your camera abilities. One last thing: here are the files in AllAboardCore (24093). Notice Scalerail files. https://steamdb.info/depot/24093/ Let me explain why I point this out. ScaleRail shut down their Web site where they offered free assets. These have been preserved by users and may or may not show up on other sites, but the freeware packs might still be shared if you find such a user. The payware packs are probably not shared. However, some of those assets might be in that AllAboardCore. So if you want to play routes with ScaleRail requirements (possibly very old routes now, such as an "updated" Cajon Pass Alpha as it's called or some old UKTS routes based in Africa and made by the same person who has a couple of payware items on Steam himself), you will want to have this checked.
