If there is one thing I like doing, it's watching cab ride videos. There's something very appealing about watching a route from the driver's point of view. Finding one with some commentary or route knowledge being given by the driver or someone else is a bonus in my opinion. I thought it would be good to start a thread to show off some cab ride videos we've watched and enjoyed.
So these are some videos made a couple of years ago by a kid around the age of 12 or so. The camera is a bit jerky at times and on some videos it looks like the train has depleted the England of its fly population but overall they're good to watch. The knowledge of the kid is quite good for his age. As one of the commentators on a video said; it's nice to see a kid so enthusiastic about trains rather than throwing rocks at them.
Class 66 hauling empty hoppers from Redcar to Ferryhill. Visual quality isn't the best but the sound of the locomotive is great. This is how the Class 66 should sound in-game.
MrMaster767 has made RFW videos for the ENTIRE Long Island Railroad that is electrified. If you love cab ride videos, I highly suggest you check out his other videos.
This is one of my favorites, full TGV run from Paris Gare de Lyon all the way up to Aix-en-Provence. I wish one day we’ll see a full LGV line made for TSW.
Here's a good one. It's short though, but this guy has quite a ton of videos of cab rides. He hasn't uploaded one for quite some time though.
One from the land down under. Also there is something special worth seeing at the end which is unique to Australian locomotives
The only contribution I can make to this thread. It was filmed it on the Wensleydale Railway and starts with a bit of an introduction- the ride itself begins at about 7:15. When I finally yielded to temptation and got TS2016 including the Weardale and Teesdale Network this experience gave me a great head-start with the Class 101.
If anyone has amazon prime, video has a plethora of videos of all sorts. Including cab footage. I've found several cant recall the name though. Placing Trains or RailRoad in search brings up tons

I really like those videos, they help a lot to learn about trains for someone who isn't very familiar with them as you get a chance to see how everything there really operates. Especially helpful are the videos where there is someone explaining everything, like in the videos with the kid who is asking very basic questions. Thank you and keep them coming.
Here's a video of the Spessartrampe taken 4 days before the old route got replaced by the new one (29.5.2017) Pretty interesting, especially since the route got built in TSW.
Hi! Here is a video from the cab of a renfe 334 series locomotive with a Talgo train between Albacete and Águilas (Murcia)
Don Coffery on YouTube has some very good cab ride videos, mainly from around the Manchester area. Many of his later one's are captioned with lots of useful and interesting information. Here's part of the NTP route (Huddersfield to Manchester). It's still recognisable but much has changed from the games 1983 time period. It show's how it's not so easy to "just do a modern version". This one is short(ish) round trip in ultra HD on a lovely clear day.
Something from the 151. A lengthy run in a bad weather. Covers a proposed route until time 1:02:00. Something that is more focused on the driver's desk. Just a normal night run. Not sure why is there a Dosto in 3:58. Another rainy video showing approach to Prague.
