On the Van wagon the most rear break pads do not appear to move towards the wheel when breaks are applied. The animation may be broken.
I asume this feature was kind of removed at some point. The class 08, 20, 33 & 52 have them animated. On the 37 not all 3 axles in the bogie have animated shoes. Class 31, 47, 40 & 45 are not animated. I guess with spirit of steam we have proof if this nice feature was cutted. To your question, the other 2 shoes on the 12t vanfit are animated with the handbrake.
