Something has been bothering me lately. I'm playing alot of SEHS and BML, on the new UK 2 appature signal LEDs. What I have noticed is that the green displays in the lower position, should the green not display in the upper of a 2 position LED display? I know on a 4 position the green displays second from the top, red always on the bottom.
Never mind, wiki to the rescue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_railway_signalling I thought it that green was on top in 2 aspect signal which was true until the newer 2 aspect LED signal appeared. Now with new LED signals it's typically the bottom aperture that will display green, yellow and red with the top aperture only displaying the second yellow as and when required.
