Evening folks I’ve been inspired today by an old shunting game I found on my ancient laptop… basically it has trains running into Penzance and you need to keep the platforms clear by removing the coach’s taking the loco off to stable then re couple and head out… so I though ooo we have Penzance and off the rails let’s do it…. ARGHHHH OMFG if I start an 08 at the stabling sidings I can only run into st Austell or a few others along the line in the wrong direction… if I add a 47 and some coaches as a service again I have to start miles from the end or have it the wrong way around at Penzance … why can I not select closer points is this something I’m doing wrong or is it once again another frustrating addition? Any help would be gratefully received (I am currently watching the 1.1/2 hr tutorial stream but it’s as clear as mud tbh
Scenario Planner is a bit rubbish to be fair. Each route is given a few paths, which appear to mainly be taken from random scenarios and services that already appear in the game, and are sometimes not normal paths or they contain errors. They don’t appear to be checked in play testing either (add it to the list of things that aren’t) and these paths are the only ones that can be used one at a time. It is at best 10% of a scenario tool. The devs don’t pay much attention to it, that is very clear to see.
Scenario planner need to be ditched and Scenario planner two implemented. O suspect this wont happen for a number of months as they have currently stopped development of SCP2 as well as LD2. Stopped not ended. Which means they will come back and look at it later on. How long that will be is well how long is a piece of string. Hentis
You can make some decent runs with lots of varied Ai in scenario planner with adverse signals. But you cannot do any sort of shunting or anything other than a single trip from A to B. All the locations have a set path and that’s all you can do.
