Higher Resolution Map Screen For Console

I’ve thought this a for a long while but the release of SoS has kind of clinched it for me.

this of us on console have always had an almost 8-bit pixelly map screen. Even on gen 9 it’s no different and far lower quality than the pc map we are treated to on the preview streams.

Can we have a better resolution map now?
Surely it isn’t such a memory hog to limit even gen 9 consoles like this?
I mean all the track in spirit of steam is sometimes barely legible unless you zoom in very close indeed.
Anyone think similarly?

 

Erm that's a first I have seen the map ever like this what console are you on?

 

Ps5.it’s always been like this on ps4 before as well.

 

Hmm. I'm on 8th gen xbox one and the map has never looked like this for me either. Not sure what's happening there.

 

Is the map at a fairly smooth resolution for you or blocky on the edges of the tracks?
In the image above the player location icon shows what resolution the screen is normally at and the rest of the game looks fine. Just the map.

 

Pretty much completely smooth

 

I'm on PS5 and it's never been like this for the entire time I've played, no idea what's causing it.

 

Hmm, I’ve always assumed everyone had it like this. Was like it on ps4, fresh install on ps5 with the ps5 version and it was the same.

Apologies for entry in suggestions- this is more a technical issue for 1 person. Any ideas how to solve appreciated.
